I have an idea.
So I have a idea, sort of. I used to be part of a group that went off roading every year at the same place and it was fun. If I tried to organize it for the Toyota community is there any interest? I would try to get sponsors, there would be a cook out, t-shirts and patches and or stickers. lodging would be available, there is a campground and cabins and there are hotels nearby. I would like to get all of the Toyota community involved if possible. We could make it yearly thing and eventually move it to different places across the US so people can take lead on trails they know and people can see other parts of the country that they haven't see yet.

From Urban Dictionary:
“Cookout
A group of 5 or more people partying for more than 24 hours.
Generally consisting of mainly males, possibly 1 to 2 females hanging in a friend's garage or a backyard, perched on some filthy couches chain smoking durries talking about how good the night was without actually being able to remember what happened.
Definitely on drugs.”
Sounds like fun!

We do a lot of that all over CO and it's mainly done through Facebook in regards to organizing, spreading the message, etc.
We don't have sponsors, but have patches, etc. It's not really thoroughly organized, which in my opinion is a good thing. I don't really want an event that's planned to the last minute and there's a schedule to keep for everything.

There are events like this out there but that shouldn’t discourage you from planning and putting together your own event. The one that totally comes to mind is the FJ Summit. I’ve been to four of their events. It’s pretty much what you described except it’s always centered in Ouray CO. It’s probably one of the most organized, planned and executed events of its kind out there. It’s not cheap to officially attend but the experience is worth it along with a pretty generous swag bag. It also helps being in SW Colorado, which in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful places in the states.
There’s also the Toyota Jamboree in east Texas, which is similar however, I haven’t been able to attend this event due to schedule conflicts.
I held my own little get together a few years ago, also in Ouray with about ten of our friends and their rigs. Totally awesome and absolutely worth all the work it took planning and scheduling stuff. No swag or anything like that but we wheeled all over the mountains and ate & drank like kings at night. Awesome memories!

Ouray is a sweet spot, I used to have a friend that lived there. You cant beat those hot springs too. Definitely worth a visit.

Yes it is! There’s a reason the FJ Summit is held there every year. Hard to beat for a small town that’s event friendly, just about everything is in walking distance, close to the trails, low crime, good places to eat, good weather, and the scenery is amazing! Hell, I’d love to live there too!
