Spoke with them 4 times in the last 5 weeks, each time being told that the kit would "ship out the next week". First they said everything was there except the rear spacer, "should ship out next week". 2 weeks later it was the front spacer missing, "should ship out the next week". 1 week later, everything is there, waiting on assembly, "should ship out next week". Today, back to the rear spacer not being there, yet again "should ship out next week'.

Called BS today, was assured by the person claiming to be the manager that he is telling me the truth. Pushing it, letting him know that is what every other person has told me and I am getting pissed, he laughs/chuckles in my ear. Needless to say, that didn't do anything to help and I told him to cancel my order, to which he said "gladly" and then he hung up on me.

I tried previously to buy the Eibach kit from them and experienced the same run-around, but assumed it was an Eibach issue and decided to give them a try again on this kit. I don't know about anyone else, but this is some of the WORST customer service I have experienced from a vendor and will never even think of buying something from them again.

If this is how they treat customers before even shipping a product, imagine the follow-up support they provide if you have an issue.

Just my opinion, but steer clear of Wheeler's!
Did you get a kit yet? My buddy Jake @ Overland Expedition Outfitters usually has Dobinsons kits in stock.

Overland Expedition Outfitters is a Sponsor of The 4RunnerShow Youtube Channel and Expo. Hit up Jake @ Overland Expedition Outfitters
for REAL customer service. It's literally him running this out of a 2 bay shop in Denton, TX. Not some Giant Warehouse, but he keeps 5th Gen kits in stock usually.

OEO - In Stock In Store – Overland Expedition Outfitters - Here's what he has in stock that can ship out now!

See you on the trails.

WARNING! Do not trust a word from Wheeler's Offroad

Man I hate that. Just man up and say it’s delayed and you don’t know when it’s gonna be ready, but you’ll follow up when you have more accurate info. I’ve bought from Wheelers before and luckily it shipped right away.

I’m in sales myself and just pass along what I know to customers, even if it’s bad news.

“Hey I know we quoted 1-2 weeks but now it’s looking like 2-4. There’s nothing I can do to expedite it, but I knew you’d want to know about the delay.” Literally me at least a few times a day for the past 12-months.

Look…there are two markets when dealing with manufactured goods from around the world. Pre Covid and post Covid. Stuff just isn’t available anymore, and almost every company is dealing with delays. I’ve had nothing but excellent CS dealing with Wheelers, they actually answer their phones and spend time covering everything.

OP's experience matches mine almost exactly. Here's what I wrote in Nov 2020 in a post about installing SuperBumps:
==
I went back & forth on these for a long time due to their expense but got SuperBumps at 10% off from Wheeler's a while back. It took weeks for them to arrive - understandable given the pandemic - but their "just get the customer off the phone" service was pretty awful. As one example of several, I called one day to be told "that order is shipping today." Followed up a few days later to ask about an email with shipping details only to have someone else say, "Oh, we didn't have all the parts but they'll be on the way soon." Look, I understand if you have issues, just tell me the truth.

Eventually they arrived but I will think long and hard before buying from Wheeler's again.
==

Can't see ever ordering from them again.

Now I'm starting to worry about my decision to reorder. I purchased a lift from them in Jan of this year 4 or 5 months later they canceled the order. Apparently they needed to collect payment on the order as
it expired before they were able to capture funds. They mentioned trying to contact me but I never received any emails from them. Now after emailing and calling this week they told me the product was in stock and to order it again. It's been 2 days and no shipment so if it takes a month I'll just cancel and look else where.

This pretty much mirrors my own experience:
Ordered my lift mid-July, items were ostensibly "in stock". I never heard anything, so I phoned: springs were out-of-stock. I flexed, and changed spring-rate to "in-stock" to expedite my order, but heard nothing further.

I had to phone yet again, to learn "back-logged, will ship later this week". Didn't happen :-(

I require my vehicle be available for Sept, due to work / kid-to-school (2hr daily driving) / hockey-coaching. But apparently 6 weeks' time-window for "in-stock" wasn't enough, and apparently their phone/email cannot send out bad news :-O

My payment pre-auth lapsed. I took this as a divine cue to let it drop; when I logged into my Wheeler's account, it showed as "Cancelled" anyway... Maybe next summer I'll re-vist the lift.

I wish it had gone differently.

Over the years (decade) I enjoyed excellent service from their sister-company (LowRange Offroad). But in this case, the lack-of-communication and obvious "string-along" was so negative...

My experiences which wheelers have been great. Even when my 6112s were back ordered earlier this year. I can’t recommend them enough. One of the few places you can call, they’ll actually answer the phone, and They have knowledge to share. Those are both pretty rare commodity these days.

Everything’s screwed up in the supply chain. If they can’t tell you when it’s because they honestly don’t know.

It’s actually quite simple what’s going on. Well, if your willing to look at the global macro economy that is. Here’s a little insight as I have my best man and a to be sister in-law someday, maybe never as I think my brother and her will never get married, that are incredibly deep in the logistics world for household names around the world. Two of the biggest.

There’s basically 2 Things taking Place. At the moment. Increased purchasing from all this “stimulus money getting thrown out. When the average American can’t come up with more than $400 cash, they become Make it rain rich with an extra check in the mail by whatever payment scheme the government has at the moment. Most people aren’t sinking that money in the mutual funds, they’re spending it on whatever widget the want. Extra demand.

The other side of the coin is you are seeing what shutting down “nonessential”last year looked like. That phrase has always bothered me because it goes against the bedrock fundamentals of what a free market economy actually is. By definition everything is essential or it wouldn’t exist. So it’s shut downs, voting has consequences, and when everybody lets their HR departments run amok with a good idea fairy every five minutes and all the “safety measures“ which causes reduced through put. Then the cherry on top of the turd sandwich is A secondary effect of paying people for doing nothing is it reduces the labor pool. If that wasn’t enough, suspending all things Hippa and tossing a mandate or 2 around is further tightening the labor pool.

That’s why you can’t get your lift kit on time, your Amazon, and why your McRib won’t be back this year probably. It’s either stuck in somebody’s supply chain, they don’t have people to assemble it, they’re waiting on the oil, the place that Bends the Springs doesn’t have the metal or the guy to do it, the don’t have a truck or driver to move it, lacking forklift operators, and on and on and on.

It’s the infinity self licking ice cream cone.

I’m gonna let you on a little bit of a dirty secret too, it’s going to get worse. Cool right? Eeekk!

Romeo, wtf you mean it’s going to get worse? Well, America has developed a crack habit called Biden bucks, trump tickets and stimi checks. The second they stop dumping money by the truckload into the economy The music stops, confidence decays, and then……. If they don’t stop inducing disturbances via mandates, extra purchasing, or reduced labor pool it’s just all keeps accelerating.

Maybe we’ll get to see that $1 trillion bill like Zimbabwe did, or maybe they’ll knock a zero off currency like the Brazilians did. At at at any rate what a marvelous time to be alive. Economic theory is getting tested in real time.

Anyway, hopefully that alleviates some of your frustration by bringing a little bit of understanding to what’s going on.
