A good Toyota dealership would keep you updated as they get allocated. I'm going 3 hours away from where I live to buy mine because my local dealers suck at communicating and following up with me plus I got tired of calling them. This is me speaking with over a dozen dealers within a 250 miles range. Good luck though, hope you find one.

I'm looking mostly for a TRD Pro as well. How long of a wait is the dealer telling you?

I placed my $500 down on a 2022 TRD OR Premium last week. Was told 3-6 months due to chip shortage.
One dealer low balled me at $20,000 on my 2015 TE trade-in and marked the new purchase price like crazy. Went another dealer close to QTH they offered my just over $24k and $900 under MSRP. But then you never know what goodies the factor adds so price can go up.
They did see one in system allocated for another dealer, and said they would attempt a trade to re-allocate them them. But even that one had no build date yet.

Getting a 2022 first week in October
I just put down $1000 on a 2022 TRD Premium in lunar rock. Expected delivery is first week in October. Dealer tried to push an Army Green on on me, but when I told him I’d wait, he came back within a hour with the lunar rock. Hope the date is for real.

Since I wanted a MGM color, I don't know what color will be allocated so as of now, I could be waiting 1-6 months.
From what the sales manager told me; they get in at least a TRD Pro in every month. I checked their website, it looks like they are getting 3 Lime Rush TRD Pros but I don't know if they've pre-sold or not.

Tell that salesman to get a hold of me! I'll take that Army Green off his hands lol.

Look online find a dealer who will ship. Sometimes the shipping fee is < putting up with BS.

The chip shortage is expected to last well into 2022 and possibly into 2023. Unfortunately right now the bubble is made out of kevlar and behind bulletproof glass. I would do what everyone before me stated and just put yourself on a waiting list at a dealership. You could wait it out for the bubble to burst but by that point we might have flying cars

General supply chain turmoil, freight issues, chip shortage...
If its not essential, I would wait. If you need it, just order it and get in line like everyone else.
It's not just Toyota, I ordered a new car from a different brand recently and the estimated wait is 6 months.

Considered new, then found a 2019 TRD Offroad for $15k less than new with 8k miles, zero wear and tear (seriously, it looked, felt, smelled brand new) and several years left on the factory warranty.
It has everything we wanted and nothing we don’t. No push to start, no heated anything (So-cal), no sunroof, no radar traffic avoidance, etc.
We used Carmax, but were very close to using Carvana, too. We did a 24hr test drive with Carmax and were sold in about 30mins…lol.
Just food for thought.

I'm in Michigan and can't find anything but 2019's that they are asking $50k for. So is anyone finding 4Runners at dealers anywhere? Every dealer I found has plenty on their website and almost none on their lots. If you call, they just lie to get you to come in only to find the one your looking at is "in transit".
Just wondering if maybe the 2022 models are about to hit and there just aren't any 21's out there or if I'm just getting lied to by salesman who don't want me to buy elsewhere so they lie about "in transit" inventory.
Partially venting here but partially a legit question: Where the hell can I find one??

Inventory shortage hitting everywhere. Here in CA they are tough to find. Expect them to be higher in prices as some dealerships are adding an inventory finder's fee!

I was lucky and did find a 21 TRD OR on the lot. The Toyota dealer near me has a policy of not marking up prices over MSRP. WHen I was signing the papers, there was a couple of people sitting in the showroom waiting to see if I was going to make the purchase. They wanted to be there if I passed on the deal, they wanted it. They didn't get it lol. The 4Runner just rolled off the delivery truck an hour earlier and the OG buyer backed out. Salesman called me to let me know, I drove down and bought it. Still had the protective wrapping on it. lol

Looks like some of the Dallas-Ft. Worth dealers have a few new ones. Not a lot of variety but they are available.

We are waiting it out. Fortunately, most of our driving occur in the summer and fall (to the mountains each weekend) and we have no work commute so there is no pressure to buy a new vehicle. Ideally, I'd love a hybrid Sequoia if they build one, but I could splurge on the Lexus version of the Land Cruiser. This gives me time to figure it out...fuel economy, towing wheelbase/power, seating, safety features, off-road capability, etc. I suggest waiting it out if possible.
