Post your Fridge recommendations!

I am currently looking at a Massimo for a three week road trip. Only two of us so don't need a huge one. We will not be camping. Basically will be used to keep drinks and water cold.

I have dual batteries, so leaving it run while we're away should not be an issue.

What is the board's wisdom?

I have a 14 year old 47 liter ARB fridge that basically hasn’t turned off since 2008 and I have a smaller 25 liter dometic that’s always running in my car. The Dometic is used either as a freezer or a fridge for small snacks and drinks, works perfect for shorter road trips because it doesn’t use a lot of power and doesn’t take up a lot of room. Also a lot easier to pick up and bring inside if necessary. The ARB is a workhorse but it’s heavy and cumbersome.

I have a SetPower RV45D that I use in mine. I like the dual zone because on the rare occasion that I want to use a freezer, like when I'm driving to my parents house 900 miles away and bringing them ice cream they can't buy locally, it's there for me. Normally, I pull the divider out and run the fridge off of either the 4R or my Bluetti when the wife and I are fishing. We bought it because I was tired of going thru three or four bags of ice every weekend in a cooler, and I wasn't ready to commit the $$ to a Dometic. However, after close to a year of use, I really can't say anything bad about the SetPower. The fact that the lid can be taken off and set to open in either direction is nice as well. The compressor is pretty quiet, so you don't get any annoying buzz, and the interior light is a great feature that I didn't realize would be so nice to have.

I ordered a Massimo yesterday and will post a review soon.

I had looked at the Set Power's initially.
Thanks for replies.
