Yikes, that would be incredibly frustrating after the long waits and squabbles over pricing. I seem to recall when I looked at Bronco specs thinking they had such an unnecessarily long list of powertrain options. Maybe the days of vehicles having only one or 2 options are over?

That article is more opinion then reporting , vague and lacks facts. The author is trying to drive traffic to the MSN site.

Not sure if this is affecting the Bronco's as well but uncle bought a brand new 2021 Fx50 truck drove it 2-3 months and had it recalled for a problem with the brake system. It has been sitting on the local Ford dealer's lot waiting for parts for over 7 months with no end in sight. Dealer/Ford only says Mumble, mumble ... "chip shortage" ... Mumble "supply chain"... "Might see first parts being released end of May 2022"... "Not ETA available for getting your truck fixed"..."sorry sir"
Aunt and Uncle Live in the middle of the plains (think hour+ drive to the grocery store) and had to go buy a Kia to have something to get around after the dealer stopped allowing a loaner after a few days.

The engine in my 2016 Ecoboost Mustang shit the bed after 6800 miles. Fought with Ford for MONTHS on buying it back instead of replacing the engine.

Take a look at Ford's stock, that will tell you something about where they've been and where they're going ... nowhere!

You bought it right at least, hope you have a bunch, I'd sell enough to get initial investment and then see what happens. Maybe you already have, you've had it for a little while. I thought Ford was a good buy about 6 mos. ago but they've done zip in that time and I don't see that changing, but I'm certainly no pro on stocks!!

I mean I have heard off and on that those Ecoboost engines in the F150's and a couple other models just aren't very reliable. I never got around to verifying how often they blow up, but the people that mentioned it to me were fellow techs in the industry as well as one or two Ford techs; so I took it with a grain of salt but didn't entirely doubt it.
That was one of my biggest concerns with the Bronco was reliability of the powertrain.

I'm a little disappointed with Ford about this. On paper, the bronco looks pretty good and in person, with the upper packages, I really like how they look. I'm not surprised though. I once owned an ecoboost f150.
I really wanted to like that truck but it quickly became one of the most unreliable vehicles I've ever owned. The intercooler blew apart on the first trip out of town, shortly after the left side turbo failed. The 4x4 system was 50% hit or miss if it would actually engage. Tons of electrical issues. By 40k miles, my ecobust developed a pretty good, but inconsistent knock in the engine, performance and mpg's were way down but no CEL. Went round and round with Ford to try and get it fixed but they wouldn't touch it without a CEL or absolute failure (knew the service dept. by first names at this point but corporate ford wouldn't budge). I ended up taking a loss on it and traded it for our 2014 4runner (which has been very reliable). I guess ford hasn't come very far since I last owned one.

I was never sold on the eco Ecoboost engine. Like putting a hopped up ricer engine in a work truck.

If eco-boost from Ford today isn't absolutely bullet proof AND a powerhouse, then they are suck!

Same, I am still curious how reliable the Tundra's new engine will be. I have noticed a growing trend of Torque bands moving up the RPM range in trucks which usually isn't something you want in a work truck.

I'm also curious how durable and reliable they will be in the long run but, reading through the tundra forums currently and there seems to be a high amount of issues with not only the new engine but with the entire new tundra.
The most common stuff I read about having issues are CEL's, turbo waste-gate actuators, wind noise, mirror issues, random stalling, and wiring issues. If the trend continues, it could end up being the most troublesome vehicle launch toyota has ever done.
Are you seeing issues with the new tundra at your dealership?
