I want to buy a 4runner

Hello everyone,

SO I want to pickup a 4runner asap.

I want to have a 4runner but I want to MOD it to look sick and be useful as well.

Offroad, over sidewalks, illegal freeway skipping into offramps, camping, trails, etc

Should I get the 4runner Offroad Premium or the TRD Pro?

Thank you sirs

Buy the one you can least afford so you won't have the money to get it out of impound once you do the illegal activities you have mentioned so the road will be safer for everyone else, the last thing we need in this world is another idiot putting others in danger!

wait don't forget the LED light bar in the roof rack, in the grill, and ditch lights pointed straight out. also make sure to turn on ALL your lights during day driving

New vs Used?

I also am looking to buy a 4runner. I currently have a '13 Tundra, and my wife has a '10 Rav4. But as my kiddos get older, we are quickly outgrowing the Rav4. I'd actually like to purchase a new one, but the dealership nearby wants to tack on a $4k "market adjustment" on top of MSRP. I know the vehicle market has been pretty wild lately, but is this the norm where the rest of you guys live?

If we go used route, are there certain years/models to avoid? We would like the 3rd row option. And the wife wants it in white to mach my Tundra. Beyond that, we don't have too many add'l requirements, just want something reliable that will have more room, but we don't want to go full-out SUV mode w/ the Sequoia (she's a curb magnet when she drives my Tundra).

50k - 60k. Budget isn't a huge concern. It's more the principle to me. If the car costs 55k, then it costs 55k, but when I see an MSRP of 50k and they tack on a 4k "market adjustment" that makes my friggin skin crawl.

The ORP is a better value. You can make it better than the Pro for about $5000.

I went with the ORP, for two reasons; first, it was the only one available in 6 dealerships. Second, I love the green, but that's the one and only reason I would have sprung for a Pro (it seems the green for the OR models is unobtanium). I'm happy I made the ORP choice, since the accessories I want are better than what the Pro comes with anyways.

If you want a blank canvas I'm planning on selling my 93k mile 2008 V8 4x4 Sport. Only changed the stereo to get Carplay but besides that it would be perfect for someone who wants to make it their own.

you aren't really giving us much to work with here.............

Are you trying to buy a brand new one? If not, did you have a specific year or generation you like?

like one of the other guys asked, what's your dollar limit for the vehicle itself? What area you in? what do you even plan on ACTUALLY doing with it? Lots of mud, gravel, rock climbing, all of the above?

Personally if you want to buy something stock or close to it and then make it a monster, join the 3rd Gen Family!!! lol

Do you mean the dealer is selling over MSRP and then adding the $4K "market adjustment" on top of that? That sounds nuts.

I see this at every single dealership I visit (which is most of them because I work for an auto shop and we get parts lol)

In California you can see anything from a few grand to like 10-15k "market adjustment"

Honestly the most shocking thing to me is that a Dealership is so transparent to how/why they're ripping you off.
