new toyotas hard to get ?
so our one and only local dealer has not had a new yota on lot all summer. They are also a subie dealer...and no subies either... the lots are vacant of cars.
is there some kind of national shortage of both these brands...or is our local dealer getting ready to go tits up.
local ford, gmc, dodge. jeep dealers have full lots. The ford dealer keeps announcing on radio.....new shipement arrived...and I drive by and its true.
so is it a toyota issue or our one an only dealer. next toyota dealer is 300+ miles away...saddly owned by same company....kendall ( from eugene oregon)
and by the way...my sons 2017 taco in for a warranty short block has been in the shop since june 5th ( said they order d parts in may.. and today (7/20) they told him same thing they have been saying for weeks.....hope to be done by friday

ok...i just read its a computer micro chip shortage world round effecting toyota and others....so if toyota is so giant...why cant they make a plant that makes computer chips ? maybe the chip factories are so busy making chips for cell phones and lap tops....which I use daily.
miss the days of non computerized cars i guess. like my old gass guzzling big rigs, hot rods and even simple rigs with carbs and points.. some of you might not even know what carbs, distributors, points, rotors and distributor caps are.. all we needed was gas from a simple mechanical pump or evan a cheap electic pump and power to a distibutor...no computers. But I will admit over the years of early fuel injection ( which sucked big time) and electronic controlled spark ( often iffy) the cars are better maybe. and i enjoy my fuel injected computer controlled 4 runner.. unless something craps out then im screwed.
sometimes technology isnt so great

Isn’t living in Alaska pretty much like living on the moon?

i didn't know people living in Alaska were so sensitive! (as perhaps compared to native Alaskans, meaning born/raised in-state).
i expect the contiguous states are getting first dibs.

Our Toyota dealer here in town has been pretty much empty for the better part of two years now.
That being said, they will fight tooth and nail to buy your car if you bring it in for an oil change!

If your local Toyota dealer isn't getting any cars out onto the lot, then they're doing a great job of preselling their allotments each month. But as others have mentioned, no dealers have been getting anywhere near the number of vehicles they normally stock in the last two years - regardless of brand. As an example, the world's largest Toyota dealer by sales has less then 50 vehicles in stock currently. Local dealers of all brands in my area that normal stock 100-200 vehicles have been averaging 6-20 vehicles on their lots per month.
