GPS Anti-theft Tracker?

Hi, apparently LoJack is ceasing sale of new units in the US as of last year.

I'm thinking about other options.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hide an apple AirTag somewhere inside. It works great for my dog…I find him every time!!

I have read that in order to deter using airtags for stalking purposes, they emit a chirp ever minute or two. So I am not sure it would work for this application. Though I did think of that myself.

How to defeat the chirping? Maybe put some modeling clay in the beep holes?

That is why I was thinking something like LoJack, maybe similar to what is used for fleet management?

I wonder if it would be OK for me to (re)post this over in the 5th Gen forum?

Go with a Compustar T13, it will do everything you need and stuff you didn't know you needed.

PRO T13 2-Way Remote Start & Security System | Compustar

Only way to go IMO since deterrence is more important than just tracking.

DEI makes some options too.

Thanks, I will look into it.

And the DEI. Was hoping to find something to hardwire to power so I don't have to bother about the recharging.

"Geofencing" seems like something good, if it leaves my house etc.

PS I don't exactly understand the deterrence aspect of the Compustar, could you explain a little bit?

Thanks.

Compustar makes hard wired car alarms and remote start combos. If someone trys to break into my 4Runner the alarm not only goes off as a deterrent (scaring them away) the key fob notifies me up to 3mi away and the phone app also can notify me from anywhere. I can then decide if i want to go out and shoot the thief or just call the cops. I can also track in real time where my 4Runner is and i can even activate Geofencing.

DEI makes hard wired Python and a few other alarm remote starts. Similar to Compustar.
