Dealer without markup?
Problem....My daughter is trying to order a Sienna Platinum but my local dealer wants to charge $8000 in markup! Crazy. They took off the 5k markup on my Pro a couple years back, but they were only willing to budge a couple grand on her sienna. FWIW they had 15k markup on a Taco Pro on the lot.
Anyways, i argues that this was an "order" and it was not taking away from inventory or them makin money on any other incoming vehicles. Still no joy.
I have seen some of you guys recent purchases / orders where you ordered and paid MSRP. Since it is ordering a NEW car, we are not worried about location and can do everything on the phone, and drive/fly to pick up.
Can anyone share what dealer they bought from that did not charge mark up on a hard to get model such as a pro. Not that it matters too much, but she is in NC.

Many thanks to Gomiami, BUT his dealer would not sell out of state...it was their policy. I tried to push them on the fact that her husband is active duty USMC, and is always on the move, but they said they wont budge on that policy.
Not all dealers have this policy, so any other suggestions are welcome.

Costco auto program for toyota is $300-500 off msrp excluding the Pro models (msrp) from what the dealer I'm working with told me. Basically MSRP is reasonable now a days , there are still some dealers below msrp though.

I recently was in contact with Toyota of Greenville (SC). The sales rep seemed quite proud that they don't charge any "Market Adjustment." However, I had no luck in getting them to drop unwanted options (paint protection, phone charging cords, etc.). I was told the out-the-door price would be MSRP + $399 document fee + title + tax. This was for a 4Runner, I don't know what the Sienna situation is.
I have dealt with them in the past with not much BS. Last time was actually quite reasonable and painless. Their service department seems well organized and normally has my car done well before the promised time.
I don't know if there has been a change in sales management or if it's the current supply shortage, but their attitude seems to have changed and they will have to change their current M.O. or I won't be buying there.
But... back to your original point, they aren't charging a market adjustment on new 4Runners. FWIW.

Spoke to them..they said they dont charge over MSRP...put her in touch with him....we will see how it goes. She is wanting the fully decked out "platinum" model, so extra options probably wont be an issue.
side note...you know your getting old when your daughter is buying a MINIVAN....
Thanks!!

That's too bad. As far as deaerships go, they seem to be an honest enough automotive group.
I hope you find one that will work with you.

Re: Toyota of Greenville...FWIW, I live in metro Atlanta. In late 2014, I was so discouraged after a year of searching for a 4WD 4R anywhere near me that I called every Toyota dealer along the way while driving home from an Outer Banks vacation. Toyota of Greenville had just taken an '07 Sport with 96K miles in trade. Ended up buying it and they were great. Fair price and turned out they are in the same group as some metro Atlanta dealers so they transported the truck down here at no further cost to save me the trouble of picking it up in Greenville. I'm not usually a big fan of car dealerships but they were great to deal with.

Any fees, like document fee? Did you have any flexibility on options?

Definitely lots of folks saying this, maybe 80% are telling the truth but Im trying to be nice with that guess. I think vehicle inventory is getting better in general despite inflation not getting much better,
