mine are waiting at the dealer. they said they are making about $7 on each in profit. ordered new seals too. they told me they take aftermarket cv axles as core.
I can't find them in stock anywhere for less than $300 a piece

I finally received mine after I ended up doing OEM reboot. It's as advertised and all Toyota so I'm going to hang onto it and lose the core.
With 264K I'm sure I'll need a replacement at some point.
Nice, I haven't ordered mine yet since I made this thread, but the 5th gen (part # in original post) is compatible on a 4th gen 4Runner, but has better boots from the posts I've read on here.
I got one from Joe Joe, it came in with the outer dust seal damaged, trashed actually, due to a packaging error on behalf of shipper - was basically shipped as is, no additional padding other than 2 loose pieces of bubble wrap and an "invoice" in the box.
He/they would not help/make it right and I had to buy seals myself, $20 ea from my local Toyota dealer.
Piss poor experience, but when you order from a joker you get clowned I guess.
Outer dust seal PN 90080-30028

interesting that they take aftermarket cv axles as cores. I guess you could always get a spare cv from junk yard to use as a core but it probably isnt worth it depending on cost
I finally went and picked mine up from the dealer yesterday. $110 + $75 core. Definitely looks OEM toyota, I bought a brand new 5th gen axle to do my other side about a month ago and they look the same. The sticker on the axle itself actually has the part # for the new axle and not reman'd so maybe I got lucky and they just gave me a brand new one?!
either way, this is the way in my opinion over any aftermarket brand. 3" lift with 1" diff drop does not have any of the boot ribs rubbing against each other like i was told may happen by CVJ. I'm sure they will last a good long time.
