What seems to be the reason behind people abandoning the Sprint Booster?
I’ve been seeing a few of these things up for sale secondhand. Do people just get sick of having something plugged in their OBD2 all the time? Is it dropping MPG’s and not changing the throttle response as expected?

In my opinion the potential response affect is too exaggerated at anything other than the lower green settings, but that's just me and it gives people a lot of room for preference. They work as advertised.
I just set it and forget it. I removed the controller and it's just a patch between the throttle assembly and the throttle cable.

I've had two 4Runners, both of which I installed Sprint Boosters. I believe it is a fantastic mod to cure the lazy gas pedal these come with from the factory. Obviously I removed them when getting rid of the vehicles, hence I've sold one and currently have one for sale on here. $200 shipped to you if you want to try one. Message me.

Most of the time, the two main reasons I see are they either get an ECU tune which already remaps the throttle response, or they get rid of their cars. And since it's such an easy install, it takes a couple minutes to remove if that, why not sell it once there's no need for it.

I love mine. It pretty much stays on green 4 but sometimes going over mtn passes I'll crank it up.

Most people sell when they sell/trade in their trucks, or get sick of the gimmick. Personally I never saw the point of tricking my throttle body and opted for an ECU tune for real increased throttle response

Would you mind sharing information on the ECU tune you went with?

I can personally vouch for increase in power, it's quite noticeable and makes the truck very much more fun to drive

The torque increase would be worth the price of admission. Looks like you need to buy the programming tool too right? So around $625

Yes, but you can always revert it back if needed. I paid 760 for for mine with a "discount"
