2023 Sequoia Platinum
Traded in 2017 4R TRD Pro for a 2023 Sequoia Platinum (magnetic grey metallic) w/the auto leveling and a couple of other options this week. The 2017 4R TRD Pro is at Royal South Toyota in Bloomington Indiana if anyone is looking for a very well cared for 4R w/59K miles. No rust not ever wrecked... fluids (all fluids) changed religiously, so it's one of those in great shape.
Traded because we need something with a heavier towing capacity. Wife wants to resume camping/traveling w/travel trailer. Link below. whoever gets it...take care of her, she was awesome...loved the trade in $$

I am going for the 2023 Toyota Sequoia Limited trims as a lot of reviews suggest it offers the best value. The 2WD Limited trim of the Sequoia is powered by a 3.445-litre, twin-turbo, V6 engine that produces 437 horsepower. It comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift mode as standard. I am choosing the rear-wheel drive variant as I won't be off-roading at all. Toyota Sequoia's fuel economy ranges between 9-10 km/l (Source: 2023 Toyota Sequoia Price in India, Specs, Features, Mileage).
Toyota offers the Limited trim with SofTex trimmed seats as standard with a power adjustability option on the front seats. It gets a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with an 8-speaker audio system. The Limited trim of the Toyota Sequoia gets the Safety Sense 2.5 Package as standard which includes plenty of driver's assistance and safety features. One of the best things about this trim is that it gets large 20-inch wheels and a power-folding third row. I think the Sequoia Limited trim is well-equipped and should satisfy most of the needs of buyers.

how are you liking the sequoia? Pro/cons etc..... we are in the market for a larger suv. Tundra was my first choice but not very practical for the family. Sequoia, tahoe, yukon etc are our first choices for a new suv, seems to be more bang for the buck with tahoe or yukon.

I was interested a little bit because they look very nice. That was until I watched TRD JON post a video on his new one that was over $80k.
Way too much.

Ran into a Capstone edition at Dunkin Donuts. The thing was so fire. Guy driving it was a boutique dealer. Said they’re going for 15k over sticker bc no one can get them.

Yeah for me, the biggest drawback of the new Sequoia is the part-time 4wd. The 2nd gen 4wd system was just great and flexible. I understand that they could not put in full-time 4wd due to the insane power of the engine...thus Lexus LX600 has the "regular" 3.4 bi-turbo engine. Still, they sacrificed an awesome 4wd system to keep up with the Jones.

If I was in the market to spend the amount of money you spent on the Sequoia
I would be getting what Thai has, the king of Toyota, the land cruiser.
Personally, I think the new Tundra and Sequoia are butt ugly.

There's a lot to like about the new Sequoia. Going back to solid rear axle, the standard hybrid drivetrain, and the looks are all pretty solid. Downsides are how they implemented the 3rd row and just how much these cost now. It would have been preferable, to me, to have a removable 3rd row instead what we ended up with. The seat back folding forward like that basically means the 3rd row is taking up a lot of cargo space all the time. There are times that I'd like a 3rd row, but with only 1 kid, it really isn't a necessity, so the 4Runner was a better choice for me. Plus, the $22k saved from getting a 4Runner Pro instead of a Sequoia Pro means that I have more of a toy budget.

For me, the new Sequoia is: overly complex. Nightmare to service. Everything aluminum. No real protection underneath for something that can go off-road.

What is more difficult to service than before? It still has fluids for the engine, transfer case, transmission, and diffs just like before.

Nope, but since it is the FUD spreading Car Care Nut, I’m not shocked that he is really worried about it.
Rant time:
The dude has successfully played the YouTube algorithm to convince owners of the most reliable vehicles on the road that Toyota engineers all of a sudden can’t be trusted. He’s an essential oils salesman for car enthusiasts. He’s selling things that won’t hurt you — that just to happen to help his bottom line via YouTube views and needlessly frequent services.
And before people dog pile on me, not everything he says is wrong. He has probably seen some shit in the service bay. He isn’t an engineer and he doesn’t have access to the data that led the engineers to their decisions.
