Question Ride quality with pre-load 1 notch or use 1/2 top spacer

I’m on bilstein 5100 shocks all around with OME coils in the front currently set at 0 notch which gives me 2.5 inches lift. I want to adjust go to slightly higher to 3 inches. If I go up 1 notch (.85), it will lift at 3.35. If I use 1/2 spacer, it will be exactly 3 inches. I have a slight rake in the back with 2” rear spring. I think if I go 3” in the front it will level the truck.

Are there any differences on ride quality when with preloading vs using a spacer? Are there any pros and cons between the two? Is it even worth going up? I already have JBA installed so going up shouldn’t be no issue. My concern is if I’ll loose significant in ride quality. I’m riding close to stock, if not better.

I understand it’s better to probably just get a slightly bigger spring rate but for my use I don’t think it’s necessary my 4Runner is mainly a pavement princess. Swapping to a higher spring rate could result to a stiffer ride.

As I understand it, either way you will not affect your spring rate so ride quality should not suffer because of that. You have already altered your suspension travel significantly, subtracting from your down travel by the amount of your lift if I remember/understand our IFS correctly, adding more lift will take away more down travel. I would pull up Tinkerer's Adventure on youtube and watch his discussion of our IFS system so you understand.
