Yesterday Imgur announced that all photos linked to guest accounts (photos not associated with an account) will be scrubbed. You have until May 15, 2023 to repost your old photos before Imgur scrubs them off the internet. Here is their post.
This retroactive application of new rules to old photos is something image hosting sites cant seem to resist, and what this means for this forum is another photobucket like Armageddon of broken links to images is about to occur. It seems like the old adage of "the internet never forgets" only applies to information you wish it would forget.
Anyway, if you care about your threads and want them to remain useful, I suggest going back through your post history, downloading any images if you since deleted them, and repost and relink them on a stable site. You can do this by right clicking your photo and selecting "save image as..."
I'm posting this on general for greater visibility. I know this impacts me significantly, Imgur was my method of choice since it didn't require an account.
