Floor Jack Recommendations?

My wife has a 2022 Limited and we love it. 20" stock wheels.

I like to do basic maintenance but having a difficult time figuring out how to get the truck up on four jack stands high enough to remove all 4 wheels at same time....safely.

I have a 2 ton floor jack that has a max height of about 18". I have good 3 ton jack stands. I typically lift on the frame and support on the frame but that doesn't get wheels high enough.

I have worked on cars for years but this is the first vehicle that I am having this problem with.

Looking for a safe way to lift with what I have, or willing to purchase different floor jack or accessories to do the job. Obviously would prefer to not drop $$$.
Do people lift vehicle from suspension or center lift points?

Any recommendations would be appreciated. I have looked here and online, but don't fully understand the process and what is safe. Thanks

Just a thought. How about two jacks with the correct length 4x4 bolted to them. Working from the front you could do two pumps on the first, two pumps on the second, two pumps on the first, etc.

Obviously you understand the issue is that the static height combined with suspension droop can prevent the tires from not touching. Most standard floor jacks dont have enough travel.

For the JACK...you need to either buy something like this

or place a 4x4 on the jack to increase the lift.

for jack stands...i place them ON TOP 2x12 pieces of wood to get them higher. Do not place pieces between the stands and frame.

I bought a thick aluminum (?) cylindrical floor jack spacer. It’s about 3”-4” tall and goes in between the jack and the puck that touches the frame. I can’t remember where I bought it, but it wasn’t too expensive (<$50?). The extra 3”-4” comes in very handy.

I’ve attached a pic of a similar spacer.

Thank you for the recommendations.

I have seen many people use the wood block method on the floor jack and that seems like a good solution. Never needed to do before on other vehicles.

The extensions that go on top of the floor jack pad look great, just concerned about them keeping their alignment and not tipping. I know that one company sells extensions that screw into their jack stand and those look very stable.

I occasionally have placed wood under the jack stands, both to build height and to protect epoxy floor. It has worked well but only gives me another couple of inches.

I am looking at maybe upgrading to jack stands that simply have greater max height....some 6 ton stands give about 24" and that should be plenty.

Thanks again for the ideas.

I have been happy with my 3 ton Daytona Super Duty. Shame the prices have gone up so much.

been using the regular 3 ton floor jack for years, wished I get those low profile fast pumping ones since I do work on a Camry.

for jack stands, get those 6 ton, it be more useful.
I'm using those pro-lift brand with the locking pin.

pretty sure one company makes them all, I didn't pay more than 50 for them.
if you own a small car also, get a set of 3 ton. it's not a bad idea to own a few sets of jack stands.

I've always worked with 3T stands but I bet the extra height of the 6T would be helpful on trucks/suvs.

yup, very helpful with extra height, I just jack at the lowest point, so on the rear its the pumpkin, for the front, I use the lower cross member, the jack stand location I use is where the book recommends. as long you have enough clearance from your stand and floor jack, it should be stable. it doesn't hurt to put your tire under your truck by the frame rail in-case the jack stand failure.

with the 6 ton jack stands, you don't have to extend them out so much like the 3 ton.

@Moose4R - I’ve used Northern Tool 6-ton jack stands when lifting all 4 corners of my ‘07 for years. Tire rotations, suspension work, brakes, everything that requires the wheels off. Your timing is good also if those fit your needs; they’re on sale with free shipping.
