I get the concerns about reliability and towing, but Toyota has a good track record of refining their engines over time. Personally, I’ll hold off on judgment until we see real-world performance after a few years on the market. If the turbo holds up well and delivers decent MPG without major maintenance issues, it could be a solid powertrain. That said, I still love the older V6s for their simplicity and longevity, and I totally understand why people want to stick with them.

Almost every single transmission manufacturer with an 8 spd or more, has had issues with them. I’ll take the reliability of the Asin 750 over any 8 speed they offer.
