In Canada you cannot find a TRD Off-Road but found one 12 hours away. Either wait 4+ months out east here or try to find one further west. Hopefully will pick it up end of next week. Bronco was more fun to drive but it's never a good idea to marry a stripper.
This is fair. That's one thing I love about being in a major metro with multiple dealers for nearly all car makes... Fun to pit them against each other if you're after something that isn't in super high demand.

I purchased a 2022 Bronco Badlands 2-door and have put 23,000 miles on it trouble-free. I drove it 1,200 miles to Moab, did Hell's Revenge, Fins&Things, Onion Creek and Top of the World and drove it back home 1,200 miles without issue. I rock crawl the Bronco at the GRDA Disney, OK. off-road area at least every month and have never broken anything. My Bronco will get me to places no 4Runner ever did. My 2003 is a V8 that I've added 4.88 gears and ARB air lockers f&r, lifted and cut up to run 35's. It is no longer reliable for hard trail riding because I just break CV axles trying to go over most obstacles (I know I probably jacked it up too much myself, but fixing the suspension will cost $$ at this point). I use the Bronco as my daily and trail rig now and keep the 4Runner for sentimental value and hauling dirt for the wife's garden. Will the Bronco last 300,000 miles like a typical 4Runner?? Heck No. Will I keep it that long to find out?? No again. The 4Runner design is excellent and will always be coveted because it is capable and reliable, but these new Bronco's actually add FUN back to the equation which the 4Runner is sorely lacking.
Great post and perspective! Hopefully that's what the new 4Runner will do, inject more of that fun part of the equation, especially now that the Land Cruiser is also being reintroduced. The 4Runner can be the more fun sibling while the LC is the buttoned up one.

I had a Bronco once. It was ALMOST as bad as the Jeep (GYPE?) that I had. There is a reason for the acronym: Fix Or Repair Daily!!!!! That applied to the Jeep but the Bronco was falling apart (literally) after a month!!!

Remember, JEEP = Just Empty Every Pocket.

I learned that while I had my 2012 JKU Rubicon. Remarkably really nothing broke on it in the ~85K miles and ~5 years I had it, but the AC was starting to malfunction when I traded it in (we needed a bigger vehicle anyway and jumped to a 4Runner).

My brain says get a 4Runner but the heart says Bronco. It would be a daily driver so I’m concerned about it having issues that will have it in the shop a lot.
When I got my 4Runner in 2019, I was also looking at JKU's. I REALLY wanted the Wrangler, they're so cool and have so much potential. The 4R was not nearly as desirable to me.

I decided to be an adult and look at needs vs wants, and even the guys on Wrangler Forum told me the 4R was better suited to my use case.

5 years later, the 4R has been solid and has done everything I've asked of it. That said, I don't "love" it, it's just an appliance. I still look at Jeeps, and now Broncos with desire I do not feel for my 4R.

If I were shopping now and budget wasn't a concern, I'd get the Bronco.

It's just like many things, Location, Location, Location and I guess you live in a Location that can get away with overcharging. I live in Ft. Worth, Texas and 4 Runners are priced at $2000 to $3000 below list price, all models. I just purchased a new 2024 TRD Off Road for $3000 off the factory list price sticker. Paying more for a vehicle because of location doesn't add to the value of the vehicle on resale years later, all vehicles pretty much have a value regardless of where you live. People who paid over list price now find themselves upside down in their vehicles and are pretty much stuck in them, unless they have cash on hand to bail themselves out.

At the other car forum i frequent, one of the fellas says. " yeah, I divorced my first wife. She was dating guys at the club". NO SHIT SHERLOCK!

I thought about a Bronco. Still am. Once i finish restoring a 99 4RNR, i;ll see how i like it versus a new 65K Bronco. I know its apples and oranges.

PS I see ALOT of new Broncos around here. ALOT. Sport and full frame both. But then again, Buffalo is a Ford town.

Around here I'm finally beginning to see the full-sized Bronco sitting on dealers' lots. The only thing that has changed is the amount of dealer markup over MSRP. Last year it was anywhere from $20k to $30k over MSRP. Now it is a lot less. Just grabbed this off a dealer's web site. Price is still ridiculous.
