....On why I love my 4runner!

After noticing many topics that start with "so long 4runner, Im selling my 4runner, my fuel economy sucks" I thought I would comment on why I LOVE my 4runner and why I would not part with it for a lesser vehicle:

I sold my Prius just a few months ago to buy my new 4runner. I was getting 50 miles per gallon on average, but I would not go back!

~ I LOVE THE WAY IT DRIVES. My 4x4 4runner drives like a lexus, it actually rides better than my last bmw x5 and it is super comfy. Road manners are superb in my opinion, even when compared to the lexus RX models. It really feels well planted on the road.

~ I dig the rear window up/down. Especially in the hot summer, it works great for loading groceries and for cooling the 4R down from a short distance.

~ I LOVE the 4.7 V8, it's very smooth and quiet, very refined. Toyota has had a long time to get it fine tuned and they really have!

~ I REALLY LIKE the navigation system and the bluetooth system. It's very responsive and easy to use.

~ Climate Control System works very well on Auto, every german car I have ever been in can not even compare to Toyotas Auto Climate systems. The german autos don't seem to know when too much is too much and vice versa. The 4R climate system just plain rocks.

~ The Faux Black wood? Yeah, I love it. It looks great, especially with the sun beaming on it. It looks upscale and modern. I would much rather have that black wood design than the titanium trim that most new cars have. It may not be real wood, but so what.
It's a good fake.

~ The lights, even the stock headlights are really decent, especially in combo with the fog lights at night.

That's just a short list of reasons I like it. I've been really pleased with my 4runner and I have no plans to dump it because of gas prices. I knew what I was getting into when I bought it, just like the Prius

;-)

Good post. Very refreshing. Can't talk, though. Gotta go admire the 4Runner.

Just brought ours home Saturday, wife really fell for it so THAT always helps! It reminded me of the 06 Tundra I sold, drives 'solid' and like Osxcode said 'well planted' to the road.If the credit union lets us keep it long enough, I'll probably get to like it too! PS.....Now, SHE wants to drive it, the nerve!

Comming out of a Tundra in o5 and getting a new 4R after three years to evaluate here is what I like most.

On road ride and handling is awesome,it feels so solid and runs like new even with 60K on it !!!

Relability has been great, with no problems so far, just one set of tires and routine maint. !!!

Very comfortable on a long trip,I can load it up with gear, put a bike rack on the back, put a cargo box or my Kayak up on the rack, tow my utility trailer to the local home center and still seat five comfortably !!!

Fuel mileage with the powerful V6 has been pretty good @21 mpg

I must agree . I was skeptical at first because I've always had domestic vehicles and this new Toyota was all foreign to me ......lol. (ok bad joke.)

I really love the hell out of this SUV. Yes there are a little things I don't like but not many . I like driving it , I'm always out somewhere exploring something.

I have a V8 which IMO has been good on gas 17 in city / 20 hiway. running AT Revos oversized tires. Its solid and heavy , like a truck instead of todays SUV's . The V8 is smooth , quiet and I love it. As for the V6 , plenty of power and a good engine , I would never hesitate to own either.

On all the Toyota vehicles I've owned, fit and finish have been hallmarks. The 4runner certainly exceeds my expectations. I am always finding something cool to look at in the 4runner, just last night I thought about how elegant the door trim lights are. Sure other high end cars have elegant features and nice trim, but the 4runner does everything without being over the top or too showy. It's just right!

Nice 4Runner. You will really love a truck like that since yota made it to easy to handle, powerful and durable.

Wow, quite the jump from Prius to V8 4R.

I have been thinking the same thing lately, and was actually going to post on the fact that I have owned my 4R for just over a year now, and the honeymoon period has not ended!

I love the fit and finish of everything. On road manners are impeccable (especially with XRAES) considering it is still a fully capable off-road vehicle. I think I actually like the 4R now more than when I got it because it has given me time to get over the stupid power window button placement and the fact that my size 12 canoes don't agree with the brake and gas pedal placement.

Overall, I couldn't be happier with my 4R!
