Finally used the 4R for its intended purpose, went camping this weekend at Confluence resort, near Fayetteville, WV on the Gauley River.
Found a 'road' from the top of the mountain down to the river on Sunday that really made me appreciate how stunningly capable this vehicle is. This 'road' was really a Jeep or quadbike trail with some steep gradients, narrow pass throughs and in a couple of places the rocky outcrops necessitated adding some rocks to life the wheels to avoid bottoming out on the transmission or running boards. It is amazing how unfussed it goes about its business. I just left in 4Lo 1st gear with difflock engaged most of the time and ticked over all the way down, and on the way up hardly touching the gas it just idled its way up. Just a shimmer of wheelspin on loose sections, that was it.
This all with 5 on board, and loaded with the weekends gear it just made it feel as easy as rolling down the highway.
I love it even more now.
Youtube quality is bad after the upload, dont know why.
