Motorcycle Hitch Carriers

I've searched the forum, but can't find any information. I have a few questions for the hitch experts.

Is there anybody out there using a hitch carrier for dirt bikes?

What is the tongue weight of stock hitch on 2006 V6 Sport?

I assume the hitch is Class III, even though I can't find supporting material. I know it's 2", but my friend has a new Jeep that is 2", but it's only a Class II. My hitch looks identical to his, so I'm a little worried.

Any input is appreciated.

This user has one. Search his username and you'll probably find more. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showth...threadid=28579

Another trick is to search like this on Google: "Motorcyle carrier Site:toyota4-runner.org"

For more on the search trick that works better than this sites search engine read here: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showth...threadid=43046

I believe your tongue weight is 500lbs. Check the hitch, it should have it labeled somewhere.

A buddy of mine actually has one and it works great. He has a '99 4Runner, so I'm sure any newer model would have no problem with the tongue weight. I think he posts on here, so I'll see if he can give you some more info.

I've had great luck with this type of hitch carrier. I selected it because it is small and can be put under a shelf in the garage.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I ended up with a Sport Carrier by Spectrum. Mainly b/c it's made in CO. The Ultimate was my next choice. I'm happy with the purchase so far.

Question.... Did you guys do anything to rear shocks? I seem to bounce a little with the DRZ on the back. I was thinking about some air shocks.

RL, let me know when/if you head to Moab. I'm always up for Moab!!

A good site to checkout is www.advrider.com
