The local wally world has signs up about a shortage caused by a hurricane earlier this year.

I'll probably use Amsoil anyway.

Hurricane Ike blew a lot of the external isolation from many of the vessels and heaters in the refinery. They are working 24/7 to replace it but its quite a lot of work. It was the same reason that gas was in short supply in the south several weeks ago. They got the gas back in production first of course and now are working on their secondary markets like Mobil 1.

I had issues as well, tried 3 diff. walmarts, Auto Zone, Advanced auto and finally found some at a local Oreilly's.

There is plenty at my local Walmart, saw at least ten 5-quart bottles this weekend.

I was hoping for the price to go down a bit, but it sounds with the shortage I will have to wait till it goes down.

that is the same reason given in the sign posted on the mobil oil shelves at the local walmart here in panhandle area in FL. Managed to get a 5qt jug at advanced auto zone, but no sign of 0w30 of mobil1 anywhere down here.
