Utah - Looking for a good shop

Hi All,

I am looking for a good independent shop to do work on my T4R in the Salt Lake City area.

I do my own maintenance, but for bigger things like timing belts etc I would rather take it to someone who can do it right the first time.

Thanks

hey bro, i know this doesn't help much but i just havnt found anyone i can trust after a few bad experiences with individual shops. I always take mine to the delaership for the big things. its expensive but its somehting you can take back and they will fix it if its not done right. i take mine to karl malone and they always get me right in and out. its worth the extra cash to me haha

GottaBeTRD, Thanks for the reply. Sorry to hear you couldn't find a good shop. Harder and harder theses days. My other car is a Volvo and there are two good places in town for them Al's and Herms. We use Al, he's kind of a crotchety old fart, but man does he know his Volvos. I am hoping to find someone like that in Salt Lake, if not I guess it's off to the dealer when the timing belt come due.

ya man i dont know you dump a lot of hard earned money into something you want to done right the 1st time. Ive been to some good old farts before and they seem to be the best deal to get things done but i dont know for me, its the enviroment. but ya i even try some of these coorperate shops like minike, jiffy lube and firestone and everytime they seem to find something wrong but i take it to the delaer they say its fine.
I paid a pretty penny at the dealer for the water pump/timing belt but i feel good that it was done right, i looked it over and everything was done that i paid for.
IMO Those local shops work on so many different kinds of cars, and dont get me wrong they are very smart and know what their doing (most of the time) i just think things may be looked over or something like that.
with the volvo id be doing the same as you. their dealerships charge over $70 for an oil change ya. I had an old audi a while back i took it into a guy who specificly worked on audi's and saved tons of $$.
