Toyota 4Runner - Not Recall
Hey, did you realize that our 4Runners are one of the few toyotas that has not been recall?
From toyota's webpage:
Many Toyota vehicles are not involved in either of the pedal or floor mat recalls
Below is a list of those vehicles:
Sienna
Yaris
4Runner
FJ Cruiser
Land Cruiser

Yep, 'J' VIN number vehicles don't seem to be affected...

It should have been recalled.
I have a 2007 4runner Sport Edition and the pedal stuck twice on me. Both times when I accelerated hard, the pedal just flattened out would not come back up, I had to use the side of my shoe to pry it back up.
I have the rubber OEM Toyota mats.

Why? eliascorp is an educated driver that knew to do and how to react.
You're not immune from it either, as it's happened in more than one 4th gen. After all, you're driving a Toyota and they haven't been completely upfront about it.

Ok, this happened TWICE? Did you take it back to the dealer? Was the pedal stuck under the floor mat? What was the outcome?

My 2009 Matrix is recalled. And my 2008 Rav4 V6 is subject to a " Customer Service Campaign" to fix the self destructing oil return hose. Funny the media never picked up on this one.

Looks like the japanese guys are having issues with their cars, Honda is recalling (~430K) some models also now. And the germans too, VW is recalling like ~200K cars in Brazil.

Yes i did, the first time I thought I hit the accelerator too hard, I was used to driving my M3. But the after the 2nd time, I immediately took it in to Camelback Toyota in Phoenix, AZ. This was back in 2008 and they were not aware of the problem. The technician took my SUV for a drive and was unable to reproduce the problem. Then I went for a drive with him and still we couldn't reproduce the problem. As a matter of fact it never happened again, but I have never accelerated as hard as i did before, I take it easy. 88K miles and only one 1 set of tires and brakes replaced. That said, I have never had any other problems with my SUV and would love to buy a 5th gen, but I don't need a new bill at this time.
My VIN starts with "J" and it is a 4x4 model.

All our Toyota/Lexus vehicles are not recalled. My family and I think twice when a vehicle has a first letter in the VIN other than 'J'

My mom lost control of her 4th gen and went into a pole. She lightly accelerated when engaging in 4WD and then her car went from 30 to 45 went side to side and then swung around.
Were writing a letter to Toyota. Her foot was NOT on the accelerator after she lightly tapped it.
