Bilstein 5100 or OME

So I'm debating which kit to go with from Toytec. I like that the full OME suspension is coming with the coils I need but how much lift will it give me if i don't buy spacers? I'm not a big fan of spacer lifts. On the other hand it looks like a bunch of people like the Bilstein 5100 but which coils would i need to buy with those and how much lift can the Bilsteins give me? Any replies would be great.

out of those two, i assume u mean just the 5100s, not the COs, they state when used with stock springs, up to 2.5 front lift, the rear would then need a small spacer (1.5), since the billies are for a lifted vec. u could use fj springs which will give ya another 1/2 to 1 in. on top of that, then u could skip the spacers, this will be cheaper than the full OME setup, & a good way to go. the OME depends on which coils u order with it, with 884s on front ya get 2.5 & with spacer on top get 3 in., im not sure what the rears give u but the flex coils will give a better street ride. the med. 895 may be a liitle harsh for u. id say if u mostly do street & want a smoother ride, the billes are the way to go. it depends on if u want to keep cost under 850, since that will be around what the OME setup will cost before the install. total for the 5100 + fj coils & rear spacer, around 450 in cost, depending on what u pay for the coils. hope this helps a bit.

I would go with the 5100's. There are a couple of notches on the body of the shock that you can put a retaining ring. That will give you the lift. You can chose between a couple of settings. Then get the 5100s for the rear with some FJC springs. That would give you about 3/4" in the rear and the front would up to you depends on your taste. IMO the Billies are a much better shock for most people. People do like the OME but I haven't really heard many people say they like them over Billies where I have heard the other way around.

Darrick,
Me likey! How many miles on my OME set up should I expect it to last? You guys are so awesome & I'm still sending you customers. I keep telling them to tell you my name and I hope they are. I keep several of the flyers Ric gave me last year in Ruffian. Two weeks ago I left one at a shop in Applegate CA. My buddy there is a Toyota Master Tech. and many people always ask him about suspension lifts.
I really like my OME med. duty lift. Having never had the old girl on billies, I can not comment on them. I do know I'd never go back to the stock height and ride.

Thanks for all the props.
I actually don't work in the office any more, but rather from home now.

You know, it really depends on how you use your vehicle. The kit could last 5 years (some more, some less). It's really hard to say. But I think you'll know its shot when you no longer are getting the lift you originally got nor the comfy ride.

Hope that helps.
