How many 4Runners do you see in your area?
I was wondering how many 4Runners all of you see in a typical day. It seems to me that I notice other 4Runners pretty often.
I decided this morning on the way to work to tally all the 4Runners I saw. On my 3 mile drive to work I counted 10 other 4 Runners. 1 was a 1st gen and 1 was a 2nd gen. Maybe 5 or so 3rd gens and a couple of 4th gen.
I'll count again when I head home.
How many other 4Runners do you see on your commute?

LoL, I will try counting today when I get off of work. Hopefully I will remember, but my guess is the number will be high. I see so many 4runner's here in Los Angeles. My commute is 9 miles so I would post my count tonight.

I see a lot, I'm guessing at least a half dozen each day. I'm new the 4Runner game, so I can't tell you which generation most of them are. Besides mine, I only see 1 other 5th generation on a regular basis.

I thought I was the only one wonder this! lol
I work in Lake Forest, and commute about 30 miles each way. For those that are not familiar with Lake Forest, IL it’s a very wealthy area outside of Chicago. Hence the reason I have to drive 30 miles each way to work…I can afford to live anywhere close.
I am not sure what it is but the rich folks must like their 4runners. On an average day I see about 10 5th gens, about 12 4th gens and a few 3rd gens. Yeah, there are lots of them out there.

I see tons of 4Runners, you can drive to get fast food and spot 20. Mostly every single of them is stock.

LOL I honestly NEVER noticed them until I started looking for an SUV to accommodate the dogs - one day I saw a baby blue one on my way to work, then the next two days in a row, saw the same one and had to gun it to catch up to it to find out what it was.
Ended up getting Rascal, she was only the 3rd 4th gen in the work parking lot, now there are at least 7 in the parking lot - a couple of 3rd gens. And I lose count of the ones I see on the way too and from but mostly 4th gens and a few 3rd gens.
Tonight I was amused as I pulled to a light in the lane next to me, a white 4th gen and right in front of me, a green 3rd gen.
But I am so much more aware of them now that I have one than I was before and it doesnt phase me at all, I still get happy to see them b/c if it weren't for that baby blue one, I would never have gotten into Rascal who is by far and away THE BEST vehicle I have ever had the pleasure of owning.

Love 'em for the dogs. If Bryan can't be on the bed, at the park or eating he wants to be in the 4Runner. It's bad but I let him go to work with me, park in the hangar, and let him be in the 4Runner. He prefers it to being "left".

I see many on my 26 miles one way commute. When I had my 97, I used to laugh every morning as coming the opposite direction was a lady driving her 97 that looked exactly as mine only 4x4. I still see her now and then. Now I see at least 2 other Ruffian "look alikes" driving around but they are stock. I see more modified newers FJ's over 4Runners, but there a A LOT of highly modified 1st, 2nd & 3rd Gen 4Runners. Since I live in the Sierra foothills, I see modified off road vehicles all the time. There is one residence I drive by that has a 4th gen t4r stock, a modified 2nd gen t4r, and a severely modified for rock crawling Tacoma all on the driveway. Starting to see more and more 5th Gen t4r's, but not many. The only trail edition 5th Gen I've seen is parked at the local auto mall. But the other 2 close Toyota dealerships have plain jane 5th gens.
The funny thing is the other day I was running at Folsom Lake State Park. I'm jogging along and a teenager drives up in a stock 4th gen with the radio blasting. He stops at the stop sign, heading bobbing away rocking out, having a blast blasting out the speakers. He looks back over his shoulder as I come jogging up alongside of him, he gives me a big grin and just stomps on the accelerator. It's not fair when I'm challenged to race without Ruffian. Then another 4th gen blew past me, and then 2 Tundras. It was race your Toyota day at the local State Park I guess and here I was in running shoes without my 4Runner!

TONS! It seems like every other vehicle at times. I see mostly 4th generation runners, since I live in the 'burbs, but I also see at least 3 or 4 3rd gens as well. I have started checking out the drivers out of curiosity and they seem to be mostly female -- about 2/3rds of the drivers. Granted, most of them are bone stock family haulers, but still. I see more modified runners when I am outside of the area I live in. I did see a sweet 3rd gen the other day -- I think it was one of the Toytec guys (had a huge decal). Colorado seems to have no shortage of 4Runner, FJ and Taco owners, I guess its the lifestyle. The only other vehicles I see more of are Subarus.

Over 10 just today. No 5th Gens though. I've only seen about 7-10 of those in person.
I probably see more 3rd Gens than 4th Gens around my area.
