"...designed for specific manufactured lift kits.."
Can one of you guys here explain this statement to me more clearly:
"Our 5100 Series shock absorbers are designed for specific manufactured lift kits utilizing the stock O.E.M. mounting configuration"
When they say specific kit, does that mean I cant just buy these shocks, throw em on and have the 3-4" of lift? Thanks for helping
Ray

That one hurts my head now...
How I understand it is, ..A "kit" is a set or materials, can be composed of different parts needed to be assembled to satisfy a purpose.
A simple "Rear Lift Kit" can be composed of 5100 shocks, w/c is taller than OEM and Toytec coil w/c I think is also taller than OEM to satisfy the purpose of getting a 2" rear lift, utilizing the existing OEM mounting configuration. Manufacturers have to be specific with the combination of parts so as not to have an adverse effect to the vehicle, thats why purchasing parts in "KITs" is advised.
By getting Only the 5100 shock, we are now buying "Individual Part" which is suppose to be specifically designed in a KIT in order to work properly. In that situation the 5100 shocks will surely fit there using OEM mounting configuration, but the effect of having a longer shock paired with a weaker shorter coil is bad and unexpected by the manufacturer.
LOL! am I correct ??

most likely
I really want the OME kit for the old 4runners, it comes with all necessary evils: front/rear shocks, steering stabilizer, dakar leafs, new torsion bar and ubolts etc etc, its about a grand. Really id rather kill the demon now rather than 'patch it' (ie-get shocks when i need it all), so $1000 for all new suspension doesn't seem unreasonable.... and I know their shit is good.
Thanks for chiming in mate!
Ray

Are the wheels and tires salvageable? If so, I may be interested for the right price!

Mod1
Gonna start the mod ball a rollin with an OME medium duty kit, complete from http://http://www.rocky-road.com/4runner.html
It is $65 cheaper than anywhere else, and the only one I could find that offered medium duty, as opposed to just light and heavy duty.
Will order by the end of the week.
