Malware at Yotatech?
So today, Chrome has started intercepting me when I go to Yotatech saying that the site has malware.
Anyone else get this? Did yotatech get infected with something? It has never given me the warning until this morning.

I got it too. It could be that they are updating something. I have had that happen at other sites when they are updating.

Saw it as well. Hopefully it will be back up soon.

Malware? Lol, oh yeah I run Ubuntu for my OS.
I browse with FireFox and I did not see any such messages from the yotatech site.

I browse with firefox too. For the past 2 months or so, yotatech has not worked for me. When I try to go to the homepage, the browser just gives me a blank white page with the correct address in the URL. It still works for me on internet explorer, but who uses that?
Edit: after finishing this post, I tried again to access yotatech. Firefox gave me a security warning about the infected site and advised me to close the tab.

it's true
I was virus attacked last nite.
I thought it originated from Facebook but I'm sort of suspecting it could have been YotaTech as well. Not sure how to tell exactly....
I am getting the Mozilla warnings as well and avoiding it. Spent all morning on the phone with Microsoft and their PC Safety number is 1-866-727-2338.
They got me up and running again. Very helpful.
You Apple guys can brag all day about Macs never having these kind of issues but Microsoft has always solved any issue I have ever had.

Boy, I haven't had to call Apple for tech support in... oh... let's see... my life. Really though that sucks Ron, glad you got it taken care of. My Mozilla (Mac) is giving me the warnings on YT, but I've been ignoring them. So far so good.

Yeah was wondering what was up with that. I tried with Safari and Firefox but got the same messages too. Mac's supposedly don't get viruses easily but I don't really feel like testing that

I tried the site just now and I am also getting a warning message. I wonder why I didn't get one yesterday?

I've been getting it since yesterday morning, the same thing happened a while back when I tried to access the Expo Portal forum but it has since been fixed.

I don't go on that site, I have enough work here, but has anyone notified the administrator or moderators? If that happened here, I would want to know about it, ASAP. My guess is they know about it, heck I get PM's for all sorts of stuff.

Not really without user consent...
If you'll get infected by just ordinary browsing, thats because "JAVA" is VERY OPEN. You can always disable that add-on when visiting known sites where malwares ride though Java.
And being Java enabled as add-on in the internet explorer or other web browser is more than a consent. The virus walks in through the front door, and windows will do nothing.
Observe that when youre browsing suddenly slows down, and you are suspecting that its downloading something..pay attention to the java applet in the notification area, if you see it disco, immediately from the internet. Clear history areas and go back to the site with java disabled this time.

very informative thanks
I'm a black and white kind of guy Borgz-would it simply be safer to kill the Java program-remove it?
Then when we go somewhere and need it-we simply allow it to install again-with the newest and greatest version and updated protection?
I'm guessing it's not that simple, is it? Please don't get all tech on me-I was brought up in the days of the Commodore 64....we were still doing punch cards in college... men still dragged their women home by the hair...
