Looking for buying advice
I can spend $25,000, but would happily spend less. I did notice that the 2008's have roll-over triggered air bags, which might persuade me.
I need a full power seat, including the back rest. (I have back trouble.)
I will be doing moderate off road, but no rock climbing.
6 or 8 cylinder?
Thanks.

For $25,000; buy mine. It'll come with everything on it. I'll even throw in an extra pair of rear taillights, an extra 6-disc JBL stereo, brand new OEM floormats, extra pair of PIAA headlight bulbs, and TRD Off-Road stickers.

It sounds to me like you want something with rollover side curtain airbags and the ability to go offroad. My advice is, whatever you choose with your $25k, make sure you can turn off those side curtain airbags when you go offroad. I have seen first hand new, unmodified vehicles, when put in certain offroad situations, far from rolling over, going walking speed, deploy the airbags for no reason. As for the seat, you would just have to try them yourself.

Thanks for the tip, Ron. That is something I would not have thought of. I have tried out some seats in the interim, and think I will go with cloth power seats.

What is the purpose of turning them off while off-roading? Am i missing something? I'd rather have 'em on just in case i'm rolling over, i have that safety feature to go off before i get hurt or die. I have an '03 Limited w/ side curtain airbags with no RSCA. And they haven't gone off yet. I guess my X-REAS controls 'em.

No, I don't believe the X-REAS controls them. This is why I turn them off while off-road:
YouTube - Xterra Side Airbag Deployed
Not the first nissan I've seen do this, btw. Anything with side airbags this could happen to.

So if that Nissan had a switch and he turned it off, what if he rolled over? Wouldn't he regret that he turned it off?

What if............ Point is, he didn't roll and they deployed. You don't have to be bouncing around like in the vid for them to go off. I had a neighbor that had a new titan. The first time off road he was going down hill and off camber at a snails pace. He was slightly sticking his head out the window to see his front tire when they went off. He wasn't even close to rolling. The force of the airbag almost knocked him out. It could have ended worse. That being said, I have never heard of a 4runners RSCA's going off while off road. Other brands yes. Nissans especially. I figure toyota put that RSCA off button there for a reason. I don't want to test the waters, I turn mine off.

Nissan need to start a recall. Thought that RSCA was for high winds so that the airbags won't deploy when travelling. Off-roading is a different story. It's upto the driver if he/she wants to turn them off. I personally would keep them on while off-roading.
