Dash kit overlay?

Was just wondering if anyone has used anything like this before, and if it worked out? My husband is not so fond of the idea of sticking stuff over my interior pieces, but I thought I would try and get some of your guy's opinions, to see if anyone has any experiance with it? This is what I'm looking at, what do you think?

Basic Kit, Over Aluminum Interior, 2wd, 16 Pcs. - 2004 Toyota 4Runner Dash Kit

My ex wife and i put a kit very similar to that on her 2000 celica. It was very easy to put on and did not mess anything up under it. Make sure to clean the area very good though. It is like a thick puffy sticker. Its not squishy feeling just plastic like. It gave us a different look on the inside which is what we were looking for.

alot of people think it looks tacky, i think the plastic looks not great but alright, real wood would be so much better but it also cost much more.
