Can I ask a HUGE favor from everyone?
You guys are all freakin' awesome, so that's why I'm posting this up here.
I'm trying to get into a voiceover job- I'd love to do cartoons or something of the like, but anything to get me paid would interest me.
If you have a facebook page, could you please share this video with your friends and family. Ask if they can share it with their friends, and their friends friends and so on...
If you or someone you know is in show business, please direct them to the link- let them know I have high quality audio in MP3 or WAV format that I could e-mail, or burn onto a CD and snail mail. I could even burn a DVD of this and other voiceover videos I've done.
Thank you all! I know posting it on here will help it spread like wildfire!

okay, so i messaged him last night. this was his reply;
btw he used correct puncuation and spelling. but since i dont go on facebook at work, i am reading it from my phone and typing it out. dont hate.
the voice over business is a good business to get into because it pays REALLY well... but the problem is anyone thinks they can do it. the truth is, they cant...
as for your buddy -in the message i sent him i called you "a buddy of mine" ;) - he sounds good. i dont have much experience with VO, but i would say the biggest thing that would make him stand out over the competition is something "special" he has to offer. can he speak another language? can he do male AND female voices? can he do a lot of vocal work without taking any pauses, breaths, or smacks. (when your mouth begins to get dry, it creates a smacking sound.)
i have worked with some VO guys before (in the educational media field) and i notice the ones who the clients are happiest with are the bi-lingual (usually being able to speak spanish), and have a lot of "stamina" when they do samples. - i feel you have this
my advice for him would be to send his resume/ samples to local radio stations, as well as any advertising companies he can find in the area. he should check into the local film schools (if he is in tucson, try the u of a film program) and tell them that he is a VO actor and if anyone needs any VO (for free in mind), he can do it. -for free just to get your name out there -
as i said before... anyone and everyone thinks they can do VO work. but they cant and your buddy needs to do something that distinguishes himself from all the others.... hope this helps!
woooo. that was alot of typing.

that's a good bit...thanks a bunch! I'm working on a few strange shorts, stuff where I can really stay in character for more than a few seconds...you know sock puppets or something like that...hopefully get all that stuff out there too.
As for the bilingual part- no go...I mean I know a VERY limited amount of italian but not enough to construct a coherent sentence.
Can you ask him to share it on his facebook wall? Maybe one of his friends will see it and it'll spark something? I know at this point all I really need is exposure and experience, but even if someone he knows is working on a short or something, that can add to my resume...

questo è un peccato. posso parlare un po' d'italiano e anch'io posso fare un po' di Voice Over. Quando parlo come un asiatico, tutti i miei amici ridano.
