Much needed advice

Alright guys so I recently had my 2000 tacoma bought back (frame recall)...anyways Im considering a 4runner and i have found one but would like everyones opinion on what I should pay for it or rather if the sellers price is reasonable. Not to informed on the 4runners so any input would be appreciated.

It is a 1998 4runner limited with 101k miles and just had timing belt done and also has new tires (duelers on fj rims). the thing is immaculate inside and out and has not seen a winter (texas truck). The owner also just put on brushguard, bumper guard, roof-rack, tail light guards and a remote car starter in. he is asking 9300 and i got him down for 9100...what are your thoughts. I feel he is trying to recoup all his money from the new aftermarket parts and tires. Anyways, thanks for your time and fire away..

The truck alone with the miles and the condition its in as you say is worth $8900..$8500 in good condition.. <---that is as much as i would pay for it without all the extras.. the extras prob alone cost over $1000 at the least.. so $9100.00 for all the goods that you would prob end up getting anyway later on, and a nice clean truck with low miles limited.. I say go for it! or tell him he has a deal if he can do $9000 even..lol but if he dont budge anymore than id say do it anyway..

Thats Kelly Blue Book.. Hope that helps and good luck shopping around..

NADA (what the dealers use) value for it in "clean" (the best) condition would be $5100 as a trade and $7500 retail (w/a warranty). So maybe $6000 would be reasonable.
Also your location makes a difference, used prices vary greatly across the states.

And what's wrong with that? The only way these *don't* have value is if you truly don't want them.

Any well-maintained vehicle is worth a premium, and that's a Fact, Jack.

He maybe trying to re-coop the money from the "upgrades". One of two ways to go about it. 1.-offer less and he keep the upgrades. 2. pay up/walk away.

Just some information to consider. Mine 98 SR5 229k totalled out by insurance in May. They valued at $7800 for pay off. When they took into consideration all my upgrades they added a whole $150 bringing it to $7950. So if that is what insurance is willing to pay out on mine with more then double the miles you need to consider a few things.

1. Is the lower mileage worth the 1200 difference?
2. Are the extras he added ones you would do if you bought a runner without them?
3. How long have you been looking and how many have you found that meet your standards and how long are you willing to keep looking.
