I like this idea....unless you have kids that can't watch the same thing.....then two in the head rests seems better.....after you cover them in matching cloth....I agree that leather would be weird
I can see what you are worried about in terms of a stereo shop doing the work but there's not a lot of wiring going on. They use a jumper harness to connect to your original plugs that at now attached to your OEM head unit. You buy a jumper harness that plugs into the car's plugs (no cutting) and then they connect the jumper harness to the new aftermarket wiring harness. Its pretty clean and worry free. Plan on $75-100 in addition stuff like the mounting kit and jumper harness.
