Start Up Issues
Hi Im new to this forum, hope I posted this in the right location.....
I have a 2000 SR5 4R - when it starts, it takes a while to crank to turn on and when it finally does 1 of 3 things will happen.
1. It will start fine & normal, idle at 1600 and drop down to 1000.
2. It will start an idle at a low 400-500, seems like the motor is on but barely as if only "half the motor is running" kindof.
3. It will crank and barely turn on to the 400-500 idle mark then immediately shut off.
No check engine light is on. Thinking its either a intake sensor? idle sensor? or fuelpump? Reason why I think it may be the fuel pump is when I give it a half crank 3-4 times before trying to start it, it will start right up perfectly.
FYI: it runs great once on right. NO idle issues at all when Im at a stop or red light. Also, I just had the timing belt, fuel filter & valve cover gaskets replaced. Checked the timing this morning and it did not jump any teeth.
Any help or input?
Thanks!
