Looking for some Trails North GA

Looking for some Trails North GA. I plan on heading up to the Helen, Vogtle state park areas this Saturday. I just picked up a 2017 TRD Pro and I am getting the itch.

We are heading up to Trey Mountain trail this morning easy run I hear. I tried joining the Atlanta 4runners Facebook page but still waiting on approval. So I ended up having to join the black sheep jeepers group my friend is in. I am meeting up with some of them possible. If anyone is interested PM me.

Hey man I am a member of the Atlanta 4Runners FB page. Did you ever gain access? If not let me know and I will message somebody and get you added. How was Trey Mt?

Talking Hey Guys

I'm looking for some trail too guys. Im new to this. Just got my 4runner about six months now. I took my 4runner to the Chattahoochee National forest. That's the most off-road she had. Look for some more trail and group runs.

There are quite a few places to ride in that area. There is Beasley Knob OHV, Tray Mountain and Charlie's Creek.

High Shoals

Check out High Shoals Falls next time your in the Helen area. I think it is Tray Mountain Rd to Indian Grave Rd . Tray MT runs out of the NW side of Helen as your headed toward Blairsville it would be on the right hand side Nothing extreme, just gravel forest roads but the Appalachian Trail cuts across it and there is some scenery. The falls hike is a little under 3 miles round trip but is easy and decent waterfalls if your into that. Continue down Indian Grave Rd and it will put you back out on the Unicoi Turnpike just south of the Hiawassee area. Then you can continue on towards Blairsville to Beasley Knob.
You can look up Beasley Knob OHV Area in Blairsville because I haven't been there but have heard there are decent views from the trails there. Still new up this way myself.

Dahlonega has some nice trails and not too far from the city. Look up Nimble Creek.

Do you mean Nimblewill Creek near Amicalola? If so, Old Bucktown Rd is a nice and easy run up the mountain from the northwest (heading southeast). It is very rocky and has a v ditch wash out section at the start. Just ran it yesterday, about an hour drive up and the backside coming down is a gravel road recently graded.

Also right near this is a place called Larmon Forks. Google that road and the trails will be easily seen on the map.

Just reading through this again...Tray Mountain may have been a little undersold. The run up the mountain between Chimney Mountain Rd and Tray Gap is fun. It has a few off camber spots which Old Bucktown does not. Definitely air down, it's bumpy. It's a fun ride up, nothing too challenging. If you are new you may need a spotter in a few places.

The three places to access Tray from the west (17/75) are all easy drives up a gravel road. Just making sure you don't miss out on the fun if you drive up there and find only gravel roads.

Sure is. The exit of Bucktown on the Nimblewill side is about 20-25 from town. Larmon Forks is about the same.
