Toyota Mechanics around Decatur?
I need to find a mechanic in/around Decatur.
Backgound:
I tried to do the timing belt/water pump over the weekend. I did a ton of research, watched videos and checked out the manual. I replaced the timing belt, water pump and crank seal.
It took a few days because I have 2 jobs, a newborn at home and sleep is non existent.
I checked all the marks 3x...4x and hand rotated the engine to verify the marks lined up and there was no issues.
I finally got it all back together and the moment of truth.
It fired right up, I did notice some "ticking" that I don't think was present before and then once the engine got up to temp, the throttle response is very delayed and there is a very loud air sucking sound on acceleration.
Any ideas where I went wrong? Is the belt off a tooth? did a MAP just happen to go bad at the same time?
thanks
