I was planning on making Memorial weekend. I'll post up when I'm headed to the range. I usually run with a bunch of jeeps. I'm putting in CV's on both sides and a new muffler this weekend. Hoping to put at least a front tube bumper and winch on this year. Looking forward to seeing some more 4runners out there this year.

I go with a bunch of jeep guys too. Mainly cuz I'm also a jeep guy, last year I took my 87 wrangler. This year I decided to take my 4Runner cuz I haven't used it much since I bought it. I spent 2 months fixing the frame and for the last month I've replaced all brakes and new brake lines, lifted it, new axle seals and bearings, big 3 wiring with a GM alternator and fuse box, and now I'm moving on to the interior. In a few years I'm gonna put a Dana 44 on this sucker.

SAS nice. My buddy Tony just did this and has 44's front and rear, running 35's in his 97. 28in coilover on a homebrew longarm setup. He's just finishing it up. We'll see if his weld's hold up ; ). My brother has a stock 97 with 32's and has come out sometimes.

Well if they don't hold just bring some rebar and a bunch of batteries to wire in series so you can do a super fun trail repair welding job. I've seen that done at dresser.

Hey guys. New to Minneapolis and just got a 4Runner. Any trips planned? It would be great to meet some new people out here.

Welcome! I haven't made plans for a get together but I'm going to dresser over memorial weekend. Some others have shown interest.

Yeah! Welcome to the group. MNrunnerman, I am definitely interested in that also. A couple of us here in Rochester might be going to the iron range to camp and wheel midsummer, if there are any takers.

I'd like to join on any of these trips! My girlfriend and I have camped all over Utah, Nevada, California and Colorado. Looking forward to exploring Minnesota. Please keep me posted! It would be great to go with people who know the area.

I have this posted in the 3rd Gen Midwest BS thread and I thought I'd post up here too. On memorial weekend there's an off-road rally in dresser, WI. It's really fun with lots of technical obstacles and some mud. Fair warning, though, you might get a dent or 2. Here's their website Minnesota Go-4-Wheelers ? Minnesota's most active Offroad club since 1966
Hope you all will consider it!

Has anyone been up to Gandy Dancer trails? That seems to be the closest one around the cities. I have thought about checking it out sometime if anyone else would be interested also or know anything about it? Or if anyone knows any private land or such to go off roading.

Sherburne national forest in Elk river has some pretty good logging roads that you can drive on. Gandy dancer is ok. It's more of a scenic drive than anything else.

Do they have a designated area for vehicles? That is pretty close to where i am at so it would be nice for like an afternoon trip

At the start of logging roads there will be a sign that says OHV vehicles and then it will tell you the distance. If you see that sign it is ok to drive on and no permit is needed.
