What are your lift goals? Offroading or not? High speed, low speed, both? What size of tires do you want? I can give you a list of parts based off that which would be cheaper, or if that kit would be better let you know. I have less than a grand into my suspension and I have 4" lift up front, 2" rear. Only thing I would change without spending an assload of money is some 2" lift coils and a 1.5" spacer on the drivers to correct the drivers side lean issue we all have.

Like I said, I'm moving to the caribbean and I just want something that can get around most of the two tracks and beach with no issues. That said, I'm not looking to Baja and do 50 mph dune jumps. Crawling through rough terrain, at best, to get where I'm going and not get stuck is the goal. If I need to get to a farm 3 miles off road to tend to sick livestock and to get my equipment there is the worst possible scenario. Taking dive gear to a hidden beach is more likely. I planned on 2" all around with all terrain tires that can get through a mud hole if needed but not specifically designed for just mud.
Like I said, Ive only ever had muscle cars and 2k seemed about right for a suspension. If this is overkill Ill be glad to hear that.

Oh that's right! My bad, you had mentioned that. Let me put a list together with amounts and totals. Bilsteins would definitely be good for that purpose, hell I beat the snot out of mine without issue! Lol Bilsteins and some aftermarket lift coils would be good. I'll get a list together for you soon.

Thanks Tony. I'll be in Interlochen early July, if you want to give me a quote of how much you would charge to throw it all on, if that's something you would be interested in.

I will be gone up north July 2nd to the 5th. I live 7 miles from Interlochen, half a mile from Baypoint church if you know where that is, or look it up. Go through Interlochen all the time.

Hey guys,
Just found this thread... whoops. My name is Justin, i live in a very tiny town in the thumb area, i have had my 3rd gen for almost 3wks now. I absolutely love it. I am a Jeep guy, but the 4runner is so much easier for me to get in an out of, since my health has diminished in the past few yrs(Arthritis, and joint replacements). I will still be wheeling with the Jeep Club i am a member of, since they dont care about what you drive its you as a person that define who you are. Here is a few pics of my T4R
First two are from the Day i brought it home, the last few are the few mods i have done so far. I am planning a 1" body lift, and going with 285/75/16's it will also be getting a set of aftermarket wheels and a ton of other stuff.

Eastside transplant from the Westside soon to move to the middle, Battle Creek.
Eleanor, my 4Runner, and I have been all over Michigan from Drummond Island to Bundy and from Silver Lake Sand Dunes to Alpena.
Eleanor has a OME lift with airbags to help support hauling gear. The ARB bumper houses a Warn winch and supports the Anzo HID off road lights. She is also a rare breed by being and factory 5-speed WITH a factory e-locker.
I'm usually open for wheeling anywhere legally.
Let me know what you may have in mind!

Hey guys, I'm in Kalamazoo (for the time being). Just picked up a 2002 4Runner about a month ago and have slowly been chipping away at maintenance items before I start daily driving it.
I will actually be moving to Phoenix at the start of the new year, so won't be around much longer.

Hi all,
I'm in Ypsi, and will usually go ride lake Belleville with friends in the summer, and make a couple trips out to Silver lake as well. Thought I'd say hi!

Anyone know of a good mechanic in the Grand Rapids area? I just picked up a 2007 4runner Sport V8 that i plan to have the timing belt and a few other maintenance items done.
Thanks!

Hiya from the Lansing area!
Hi,
I decided to get back into 4x4's in March. I picked up a '17 TRD-Offroad Prem. in Mag. Grey Metallic w/KDSS.
So far, I'm mostly getting together stuff to minimize a need for help if I do something stupid. Like I did last month trying to turn my trailer around in the yard and got my van stuck(twice). The T4R had no trouble pulling the van onto the driveway using a new tow strap and the rear hitch.
I'm thinking about trying a DNR "route" near St Helen, Rocks and Valleys S of Harrison, and Silver Lake SP.
Here's a question. Silver Lake and Rocks and Valleys both require flags, but the T4R isn't like the CJ-7 I had in the '80's. It doesn't have a plate steel bumper with a convenient hole for a flag. So, if you've been to Silver Lake with your 5th Gen, how did you mount the flag? Pictures would be very helpful.
Thanks!
Wendell
