Why would a locked front cause breakage over a non-locked. I would think it would be the other way around??
BTW I thought about a SAS but getting back into the T4R I just dont want to lose that ride quality.

Unlocked front, yes it can have more wheel spin, but the spinning tire doesn't have traction, its never wedged against something.
With a locked front, if you have a tire wedged between two rocks or under a ledge, it can snap. Locked diffs can actually transfer power unlike unlocked diffs.
