Not super difficult but it will take you a good amount of time and determination. (As in installing the Ultimate Camping mod). And you’ll have to drill thorough the hatch and then seal it. Set aside a long day or two to do it.

It would probably be a good idea for some member to act as a guinea pig and get a light assembly, set it in the proper position, temporarily connect it to +12 volts at night, and see if it’s worth the effort to install it. Take photos and write up a review in this thread. Maybe XD could send a complementary one out for review. Then we all can decide on a group buy.

Edit:
Some suggestions for XD: The wire length of 1.5 meters is not enough for the 5th gen 4R. You’ll need at least 2 meters for all the routing and strain relief that needs to be done. Plus the twin lead wiring is rather fragile for this. It would be better to include a two conductor plastic coated cable that would withstand all the abrasion, bending, and tugging that will be done when fishing it through the 4R hatch and rear pillar innards.
Good notes! I had one person order a setup and install it on his 4Runner, but I never heard back when I asked how it's holding up so far. He did add some wiring for Length to make the job easier though, I know that. It is a Universal product meant for anything with a License Plate so it might not fit the same in every vehicle, extensions may be needed. We've found that 1.5M is long enough for most applications without adding a bunch of Sloppy/Leftover wiring to tidy up. you are installing in an SUV with the license plate on the tail gate and the reverse lights stationary in the tail lights, it may be required to lengthen the wiring.

Interested depending on price!

Id be interested depending on price - but usually the vendors here post a range of QTY = Discount%. Can you list your goal for 15% or 20%?

No offense but what good is the warranty when you don't honor it? I was supposed to be receiving a replacement festoon bulb from you guys months ago and still nothing...

Maybe if you guys can put together an install video or something, we could get a few more people in on the group buy (those who might be on the fence).

I am unsure on what had happened in that situation, do you have access to your Order Number/Email Ticket Number associated with your order? I assure you - if we owe you a bulb, we're going to send it out! The order might be stuck in the old system, as we have recently updated our website + Backend software to an all-new platform, it's brought on some troubles here and there so this may be due to why you didn't receive that bulb.

PM Me if you would like and we'll look into it again!

I'm looking around for a 4Runner to install on, I think you guys may be in-luck! I'll see what I can make happen and will report back.

That's what I'm trying to feel out with this post, if I were to roughly take a guess, it would be something like so:

10+ ppl = 10% off

15+ ppl = 15% off

20+ ppl = 20% off

These are loose guesses, I don't have the full permissions to make the determination so it's something that would have to be approved through Bossman. I just know the more ppl onboard, the better the Savings are going to be!

Wow alot of work but still interested as this would be a great addition to the back up lighting. Thanks for the meaningful insight on how it would have to be done

Forgot to ask before, does this have a light underneath that will illuminate the license plate as well? Unlike the Tacoma or tundra, 4runners stock license plate lights will be blocked by this bar.
