Better than a group buy - Costco traction pads

Just came across these and thought I would share

https://www.costco.com/maxsa-innovat...100540718.html

Have not used them.

Nice find. Now need to wait and hear back from anyone that has used them.

I bought those around X-mas time when they had them on sale. So far they look nice but I haven’t actually had an opportunity to use them. I’ll probably use them for sand and snow only and not use them as bridges unless I have no other option. I work at a ski resort so hopefully I’ll be using them here shortly.

I worry about off brand Maxtrax. Here was a video that showed many didnt perform well

So I had an opportunity to use these over the weekend. They didn’t do what I wanted them to do but the truck that was stuck was also buried to the frame in snow! The shovel aspect worked fine digging snow out. Once he was high centered the traction plates didn’t do much. I also tried winching him out as dead weight. With nothing to attach my T4R to my winch setup was just pulling me towards him instead of him out of his hole. I think if I could’ve hooked to a tree to keep me from getting pulled my winch would’ve pulled him out no problem. I ended up just hooking a strap to the front of him and pulling him out at a 45 degree angle.

unless I'm crazy, it seemed like the offbrand tracks did pretty well in that video lol.
