I will if you will!
I honestly have no idea as this would be my first time going. I'm usually pretty deep into my motocross season and don't have time, but since I messed myself up last month I have all kinds of time to travel and camp with the t4r.

Hopefully this new venue will change that! Either way I think it'll be worth checking out.

Hey friends! We need to plan a get together sometime soon...still itching to see other runners in Des Moines
Also, question for you all. Does anyone have any opinions or advice on an engine swap in a 2nd gen?
I know someone who has a 1992 in perfect body, frame and interior condition (bought in Cali) but it has the dreaded 3.0 V6 head gasket problem and he's looking for advice. I think a 3.4 swap would be his best bet, but I have no clue who I would trust to do the work, how involved that would be, or what his best options is. He's ready to just dump it as is for $1500

I would definitely go with the 3.4 swap. Those are great engines and shouldn't require too much fab work.
I've also found a few people that swapped in a SBC 350, but that would also require a trans, wiring, etc. Also, a lot more fab work.

Hey Caleb! Great to meet you, what area of Iowa are you located in?
Edit: nevermind, I see earlier in the thread you said Decorah. Still nice to meet you either way

I would also recommend the 3.4L swap. I haven't done it and haven't researched it much. Have you looked on Yotatech? I have some experience working on the 3.4L but not enough to be able to do a swap in a vehicle that didn't already have it. A friend of mine is pulling a 3.4L out of his 4Runner and I helped him work on it some. He said his is old engine spun bearings.
Tall corn cruiser classic is Aug. 25-27, even if you don't go offroading I would recommend showing up and socializing with other Toyota fanatics.

Toys 4 Tots was this past weekend. Lots of toys collected and lots of rigs. I was there both days. Took a few pictures. Lead some Jeeps around. Where were the Yotas?
