cpguy33,
This is not hardwired. This is an ECU body function item that can be set by the stealer (or anyone with the right tool.) I had mine changed to unlock all doors with one push. There are other items like this in the owners manual.

Since these changes can be made with a tool, why can't the same tool change the rear window functions? What kind of tool did the dealer use, was it hand held? Did it plug into the OBDII port or somewhere else. Can it be purchased to make these changes yourself?

I know this is not hardwired in the US version and that you need a dealer to re-program it to unlock all of the doors with one push along with many other functions that the manual dosen't tell you about. But looking at the Japan version of the 4Runner the wiring of the drivers door lock is different than ours. It looks like there is no way to just unlock the drivers door in the Japan version since all of the door locks are tied together, while the US version the drivers door is wired separately than the others.

I need the body ecu wiring diagram, the US version of the wiring diagrams calls it the 'multiplex communication system'.

Could get some part numbers for the rear window switches? Your front switches won't work because our drivers side is on the left while yours is on the right.

I also have a couple questions about how your remotes work. When you press the unlock button does it unlock all of the doors or just the drivers. For ours when you press the unlock button once the drivers door unlocks, push it twice all of the doors unlock. Do all of your window switches inside light up, the drivers window button on ours only lights up with 'auto'? If so, I might also need the interior, or instrument, lighting wiring diagram for the switches.

If you could also get the part number of your keys. I would like to see if I can get them to work on my truck with the remote on the key.

PM was transmitted to you.

and About a remote key, it does not understand well.
If we(Japanese) lost this key.....A setup will be corrected,
The work is made only to TOYOYA,

Thanks to cpguy33 and sharivan for all their work on this. I (and just about everyone else on here) would love to enable this feature and you both have got us several steps closer. I look forward to hearing any progress.

Anything new on this?
Was anyone able to make a mod to enable the auto up on the rear window?
How about the JDM key with the buttons on it? Anyone able to obtain one?

on our 4runner, you cant just add a switch to make it go up as well, its more then that. one there is a control unit (module) that needs to be installed. dont go to toyota, ask your local stereo place...if there good they will know what to do...ill talk to my buddy tomorrow to tell you what you need, but im not sure if it will work with factory alarm, i have an after market alarm that rolls all my windows up when i hit the alarm. i can also get it to roll down but i didnt have the money to get the other module for the roll down. ill get more information tomorrow. sorry if this doesnt help. thought i put my 2cents in.
