Difference between a 460/470?

I am interested in these vehicles, might get one, 2004-2008 or so. What is the main difference between the 460 and 470? Is it the size?

460 = 4runner?
470 = Landcrusier?

Both 4runner only bigger bodied. The 460 is a bit bigger. Check out edmunds for specs.

the GX460 is the "new" model for 2010 and newer GX. It has a more powerful v8, and costs more compared to a used 470 (2003-2009). They are pricey either way.

don't confuse the LX470 and GX 470. the LX is based on the land cruiser, the GX on the 4runner/landcruiser Prado.

460 = 4runner?
470 = Landcrusier?
460 = 5th Gen 4Runner
470 = 4th Gen 4Runner

If you are looking at 2004-2008, you are looking at GX470s. In 2010, the GX470 was replaced with the GX460.

GX460 is a 150 series
GX470 is a 120 series

I didn't think the 5th Gen 4Runner came with the 4.6l; just the GX. Though there is a 150 series 4Runner with a V6.

Around 2005 the 4.7l was revised to vvti with more power and efficiency. Look for that.

Old thread. Never mind
