Snapped a few pics this weekend after putting some serious elbow grease into the Lexus. Vacuumed, steam cleaned, magic eraser on any scuffs in the plastic, scrubbed out any stains in the carpet, armor-all'd, cleaned the headliner, leather protectant, a real good exterior cleaning and some time spent with the paint touch up pen, and it's finally feeling like mine (well, the wife's technically).

Looks nice! I'm trying to get my wife in a 470. Hoping sooner rather than later.

Bit of an update, picked up an '05 Acura MDX which will be the wife's for now, so the GX is my ride going forward.
Also got the GROM USB2 w/ bluetooth setup installed, iphone plays wirelessly, takes phonecalls, etc. Really adds a lot to the experience!

Hi Ian. Is your factory stereo the Mark Levinson? I've not heard of the GROM unit until now. There's another much more costly unit for iPod integration from vaistech. Curious about what you have.

Ya, mine has the ML premium stereo and nav setup. The GROM with bluetooth works very nicely, let me know if you have any questions.

Small update, installed a 4300k HID kit from Xenondepot last night, knocked about 5 years off the old girl when you see that bright white light in front of you, love it! My first vehicle with HID's, but I'm also getting a set of DEPO's retrofitted for the new Land Cruiser, so pretty soon the whole fleet will be converted!

Looks awesome, amazing what different wheels and tires do that thing. Looks like a proper rig now.
I will be getting a GX as soon as I sell my 3rd gen.

Nice looking rides. Kind of wish I would have more seriously considered a GX before buying my 4th gen T4R. However, mine was a rare find, could pass it up.

Great pick up! Im considering getting rid of my T4R and getting GX470, but of course I have to be picky and have been looking for one without NAV and without the Tan interior lol.

Hi guys,
Not wanting to hijack the threat, but I'm new enough not to be able to post my own. Have an electrical issue and saw that Ian has the same HID kit I do.
Basically, with my camper plugged in yesterday I turned my headlights on (xenondepot HID), heard a buzzing sound under the hood, and now have a few electrical items not working.
Airbag light (red) is on on the dash, turn signals don't work (although hazards do), seat heaters won't work, and the climate control system is completely off line.
The headlights still work fine.
This sure sounds like a fuse/relay, but I have not been able to find anything that's blown.
Any thoughts on what could be the cause? I've heard of the body ECU as a possible, but don't know much about it.
Any help is much appreciated!

Time for a quick update, this truck has been the wife's DD for a few years now, and it's been rock solid for us, just oil changes and fuel (lots and lots of fuel).
We've put 90K kms on it in that time, and it was time for some new tires. I was VERY happy with the performance of the Duratracs on this truck, rotated regularly and they still have 11 & 12/32 tread remaining (18/32 is new)! But with winter coming I wanted some fresh tires on it, and took the opportunity to go back down to stock size rubber, as we just don't get any benefit other than appearance from the larger rubber, and several potential cons (can't be helping fuel economy, lost performance, taller gearing for towing, etc).
The FJC wheels were also starting to peel and could use a refinish, so I switched it up and got the newer style FJC 8-hole wheels, which really changed the look of the truck. Just before this I swapped out the rear air suspension for FJC springs and SSO conversion kit, which I've been very happy with so far. The airbags were starting to deflate when it sat in the cold, so I figured it was best to address before it actually failed, and with a spring conversion there's a definite end to the project in sight, no domino effect potential. It now sits about 1/2" taller in the rear than with the air setup on "N", so fully loaded it shouldn't be much different than stock. The rear air was nice, but was becoming a liability. The pic shows both spacers in the SSO kit, it sat too tall and I had to remove both to get the results I wanted. The spacers are good for 1/4" each, so 1/2" difference with them in vs. out.
I'd like to delete the roof rack as well, I think it would look cleaner, and MAY cut down on cross-winds pushing it around on the highway. We will never use the roof rack on this vehicle either way.

HI IanB,, I'm looking at getting one of these but a 2004,
how bad is the fuel economy on them? I currently have a 2000 4runner and do mostly highway driving I get anywhere from 11.5 to 12 l per 100Km on the 4runner...
