front plate bumper
Just wanted to see if any of you guys were looking at purchasing a plate bumper and seeing if we can get a group buy going maybe?
I'm looking at southern style speed but I just can't justify $1900 plus almost $400 to ship. I know its a Lexus, but I was less than half that for my 4runner bumper.
Side note.......anyone know if other companies are working on a bumper? Addicted off road? Metal tech?

i am in the same boat but im not so sure i like the looks of the SSS bumpers. i know metaltech is no longer doing custom one offs so they are out. ARB prado bumpers are close but require either the fenders to be trimmed or the bumper to be modified to work -and those are things id rather not do...

Are the front frame mounts the same between FJs and 4th gen 4runners? I like TJMs FJ cruiser T13 outback bumper but somebody being able to test fit that is next to zero.

The only company I know with plans to market a bumper is Domello but that is a good ways down the road. There are a few running around with it or at least will be soon. Your best bet is probably to go custom if you don't like SSS cost. I was going Domello but I can't justify shipping on top to GA. One must pay to play.

Thought I'd update this thread.....even though only 5 people read it.
I installed the ARB plate bumper for the prado120. The minor trimming I heard I had to do was very much true. Have to cut through the fenders to have enough clearance. I now need to also measure 10 times then trim the fender flares to make it look good. Also have to remove the metal bracket below each head light.
I've still got a few more things to do but I love the look of the ARB on these rigs.

I don't have access to a computer except at work. I will see what I can do. Don't have the flares done yet

I've been emailing Jason at Demello about front and rear bumpers. He said it is possible to start a group buy and design them if we can get 10 people interested. I'm willing to let them use my GX470 for designing it.
Would anyone else be interested in Demello front and rear plate bumpers?
I'm planning on incorporating an AEV Fuel Caddy into the rear wheel carrier if possible.
Would you be interested in Aluminum or Steel? Aluminum would cost more.

I'm interested but before I would commit I'd have to see one on a gx. Sorry I know that is not what someone who is trying to get a group buy going wants to hear

I actually just got one of these as my daily while I keep the 4th gen as more of a toy and am interested in a bumper as well. Might try a test fix once I pull the trigger on an addicted off road bumper for the 4th gen

I like the arb on mine. Took some cutting to fit but I think it came out nicely. For the rear......I love the southern style speed but with the options and shipping, I just can't justify the price tag. It's just too much.

I know Chris at Hefty Fabworks has spoken to Woody from IH8 about doing GX bumpers in aluminum or steel. If you are really interested give Hefty Fabworks a call and see where they are with it.
