FN FX or TRD pro wheel on GX460?
I seen pictures of FN FX and TRD pro wheels on GX470 and 4th/5th gen 4runners. Anybody have the wheelset on GX 460? If so please post some pictures. I've been wanting it on when I was planning on buying 4runner but I ended up picking up a 2010 GX 460 instead. Thanks

According to Club Lexus, TRD wheels cannot fit on a 2nd Gen GX. If someone on this forum can dispute that I would appreciate it. I wish to purchase a 2nd Gen GX and add TRD wheels rather than F Sport or Volk wheels.

That's not what i got from that thread. Pretty sure the first reply was an opinion based on appearance.

Don't 5th-gen 4Runners and GX460s use the same exact front brake calipers and rotors? So 17's should fit...besides look at the second to the last post of that CL thread, the guy's running 17s on his 460.

I'm not sure about the brakes, but you can put 5th gen 4r wheels on a gx460. I've kicked around the idea of putting trail wheels on my gx. Also, 265/65r17 spin almost the same circumference as the stock 265/60r18 gx size.

Did a quick look @ Rock Auto, same part # for the left front caliper so it should be safe to assume the same for the right front.
Trail Ed. wheels are one of the nicest OEM 4Runner wheels in my opinion.

Really? Later down in the thread others alluded that they won't fit. That's how I read it. I don't necessarily agree because vehicles are basically the same. Not sure why Toyota would put didifferent brake calipers on the GX. They certainly never did that with the precious generations of vehicles when V8/V6 models were offered on the 4Runner. I found this thread where a GX460 owner put his trail edition 17" wheels on his GX. Gives me enough of a reason to purchase a GX460. Good discussion...

I agree with
@ Threev8s
,that first comment was an opinion that 17's "look" too small. I don't see any other posts in said thread alluding to fitment issues, especially when someone actually posted photos of his GX460 equipped with 17" wheels.

Might want to double check your statement. There was a larger front rotor/caliper setup on some 4th-gen models, like on your '08 Sport Edition. These are the same larger front brakes GX470s came with standard.

Guy I personally don't care...when I was reviewing part numbers for both I didn't see differences. Clearly you are much more thorough than I care to be. When I compared a 08 V6 with an 08 V8 I didn't see differences. I posted another link with someone putting 17s on his GX...plus you said it yourself 5th gen has the same parts as the GX. GX weighs mores, higher towing capacity and the same brake calipers. One with a V6 the other a V8...case closed Columbo.

FN FX pro 285/70/17 fits!
The wheels are glossy gunmetal. It was recommended by Dustin to match my gx color since I've never seen the different colors in person. It darker than the color of gx. Maybe should of gone with matte grey.

I saw this Lexus today at the park near my house. I don’t follow the GX’s. I don’t even know what year or model this is. Looked interesting with the 285’s on FN FX wheels with a clean looking aftermarket front bumper and sliders.

Is there a story behind the Celica in your avatar?

Can you still order the FN FX Pro wheels ? I don't see them on their site any longer...
