Lift and tires

Hey guys just joined the gx club
Picked up a 2006 gx 470
Looking at lifts and tires now. Debating on icon and radflos. I've had good experience with icon on my 4th generation but the kit I was looking at is kinda pricey compared to radflos. Any recommendations on which kit? Is the 2.5 inch struts and shocks worth the upgrade and is the icon with the price upgrade from the radflo

Other questions I had was what tire size to go with. Any problems clearing bfg 285/70/17 with 2 inch icon/radflo lift or should I go down to 275/70. I have the 275 on my 4runner and no rub after the bumper upgrade. Not want to do the body mount chop. Any input would be much appreciated thanks.

If you have Facebook, join the GXOR group. It's probably the most active GX community out there. This board, toyota120, ih8mud/120 series, and club Lexus are also great resources.im at stock height so I can't offer any advice.

Thanks for the help guys
Decided to go with the radflo stage two with the 2.5 inch shocks in the back with the tc uca from metaltech john helped me out a lot and I got a killer deal. They recommend a 285/75/16 tire with that kit and the 285/70/17 were a smaller diameter tire so hopefully I'm good with that. Also gonna go with the toyo open countries at2 toyo r a smaller tire so hopefully that also helps now it's the wait from radflo.

My 99 4runner recently died and I am considering an 06-08 GX. It seems in a post above that 16" Toyota wheels from my 4runner may fit the GX. Can anyone confirm this?

I went with Kings, and kept the tires at 265/70R17 (32") you can go up to a 285, but you may need to trim some plastic, and add spacers. Anything bigger is a major chop job.

Looking at a 470 now... Ill probably be going the King route myself.

My plan is to take a little bit of a sleeper approach... not too aggressive of a lift, maybe 1-2 inches max.

Just looking for a well rounded performance driver on and off-road.

lift and tires

I went with Kings, LSK uppers, and 285/70r17. BMC is not 100% necessary, but it does rub a little.

there is definitely a lot of options. Most of the gx470s that come in from us are either for OME or kings. I work at toyteclifts and I'm actually in the search for a 470. We also have discounts for members
