Gx470 OME lift questions

The airbags/compressor finally failed on my wife’s GX. Planning on installing a 5100/OME setup. We won’t be wheeling it, so we just want a 1-2” lift with a nice ride that does not cost too much. The 895e OME coils for the rear seams to be what a lot of guys are using. With the extra components needed (coil conversion kit and isolators) those springs should give the 1-2” in the rear I am looking for. For the front I am undecided. I know I can fine tune the amount of lift with the adjustable 5100s but don’t know if the OME 884s will be too soft or if the 885s will be too firm. Anyone have experience with these springs? Thank you for any advice!

Do yourself a favor and check out the offerings from Dobinsons as well, they have a huge range of springs for these trucks, and the ride is very nice. I went with "comfort valved" rear shocks, just their basic twin tube shocks all around, they seem very well built.

I got the arnott coil spring setup which came with bilstein shocks. It is amazing and im pretty picky about my on road suspension. much better ride than anything I put on the 4runner

Elan,

Thanks for your reply.

I ended up going for the OME/bilstein set up since it is cheap and I’ve got so much experience with them, mostly good. I have not installed it yet but I will next week. I’ll post here the results. 5100’s all around. 895s in rear (895e did not lift enough) and 884s up front. Ordered the SSO coil conversion kit after trying another brand that did not work for my GX.

I’m looking at a burgundy 08 gx470 with a small radiator leak and clear wear on the driver seat with 140k miles and 2 owners for 14200$ out the door from a dealership.https://discord.software/ fetlife vshare
