Window switch

I think the drivers side window switch went out in my 05 gx470. The back drivers side window will not roll down from the drivers seat. But it works fine at the actual window. The replacement switch is 6-700 dollars. Phew. How hard is it to replace it? Or hopefully am I missing something as to why it may not be working?
Appreciate the help

Window switch

Took battery cable off and tried to reset the windows. Now I can’t open or close either back window from the drivers side.

Been a bit, but if you haven't figured this out out yet, you just need to reset the switches. Go to each door, roll down the window about halfway, wait a second, then roll the window up. When it gets to the top, hold the switch in the up position for a few seconds. After you do this to each window, you should be able to control them from the driver door panel.

If that doesn't work. All the wires typically go through the drivers door boot. Since the drivers door is the most used, it gets the most abuse. Those wires are constantly being bent, back and forth, work hardening the wires. Then the wires become brittle, and break. Often this is the problem. Fix the broken wire.
