I wanted the Land cruiser. Wife didn't and its her daily driver. The GX actually works better for us anyway. If we had bought a 4 runner, it would have been long gone a long time ago. Between my Neice with one a neighbor with one and another friend, the things I don't like about the GX are amplified in the runner.

I am in my 5th month of owning a GX460 and I love it. For me, it was the right decision versus a 5th gen 4Runner.

Maybe not the same thing but I want from an 80 series landcruiser (LX450), my first car I kept for 18 years and sold when I leased a new GX in 2016. I kept the 80 for a while but finally let it go, honestly the only thing I missed was the nostalgia the GX is a great intersection between modern but still a real truck and not dumb useless gadgets ready to break modern.

But yea the nostalgia was strong, picked up another 80 during covid....long story....oof.

I'm about to find out as well...ha

2017: 4Runner Limited V8 (Still have this one)
2018: 2018 4Runner TRD Pro
2025: 2025 Tundra 1794 Hybrid
2026: 2025 4Runner Platinum (became the wife's daily)
2026: 2020 Lexus GX 460 Premium

Picking up the 20' GX 460 as soon as my wire transfer to the dealer is received at my local Lexus dealer. Really looking forward o it. Love the V8/6 Speed engine/transmission and the interior comfort creatures. Will be adding the Hamilton conversion kit with the new screen and carplay at some point really soon and think I'll be set after that.

Wish me luck!

Me too. I have owned my GX460 for Jan 2024 and absolutely love it. I'm thinking about buying a different car to replace my '24 Camry and joked to the wife that I'd like to have a 2nd GX460. I was only half joking.

Do all of the maintenance myself so the dealerships has never seen the truck since I took delivery. It's easy to work in, comfortable, does well in all weather conditions, has adequate power and enough cargo space for the two of us to take cross-country trips, which we have done three times now.

No regrets at all.

Went from a Disco 2 to a GX460. The disco was great. The GX makes it look like garbage though, and that's coming from what was likely the most reliable disco 2 ever.

The fun thing about the GX is all the little upgrades you can do relatively easily, and all the cross compatible parts. MTS, crawl control, and even big things like the locking axle swap (which I hope to do soon). Right now, i'm dealing with a suspension issue from swapping over TRD stuff from a 4runner, but even with things not perfect, the ride improvement is tremendous.

I wish I knew how to add MTS and crawl to my 2023 Premium. I know it's simple enough before they redid the center stack but I haven't seen a writeup as to how to do the 22 and 23s. They're there in the truck...sure wish I could access them.
